528i owners opinions
I am getting real close to ordering a F10 528i with M Sport package and Sport Auto. I would love to hear present owners of 528's to chime in with their thoughts and opinions of how it's been living with this car for a few months. Are you happy with your purchase, real world MPG, any regrets? Thanks!

I think it's a nice choice if you can live without the massive torque found in the diesels. Unfortunately I've had some issues with the engine (knocking sound, jerking) but I still kind of like it. I'm getting great MPG:s. I mostly drive on the highway at about 120 km/h and then I get 35-37 mpg. The gearbox, sport auto, is a real gem.

I had my M3 in for service a couple of weeks ago and had a 528i loaner. I was blown away at how quick and smooth it was when I pulled out of the dealer! The eight speed is amazing, and the suspension has that impressive combination of handling and comfort that BMW has mastered. (It had the standard suspension.)
Overall, a very impressive car. When you consider the EPA highway rating of 32 mpg, it's almost too good to be true. From the inside, it feels much bigger than the E90, yet the handling feels BMW nimble. I can't give up the M3, but there are times when I'd really enjoy this car!

Love it so far.. wish i ED'ed it with more customized options and interior color. Mine is a M sport 528i also. Two weeks ago before i bought my car, i called every dealerships in greater Los Angeles area, all of the msports 528i beside norwalk have the same options, P1+2, Msport + xenon. Norwalk had a Space grey 528i M sports with convenience package ontop.
700 miles so far, 22mpg in LA traffic but slowly climbing higher. Look up Greg Poland from Glendale Pacific BMW tho, he gives $200 over invoices on all 528i straight out without hassle, and great service. |

I had a E60 530 and after driving the 528i would have definitely purchased a 528xi if available. Didn't want to wait so I purchased a 535xi.
535xi much smoother than my E60. The 528i HP about same as my E60 530. Seemed sportier because it need to downshift more under hard acceleration. |

To the OP: be careful about the reports you're getting — the 2011 528i is not the same car as the 2012, because the 2012 replaces the N55 engine with the N20.

FWIW, the high cost of imports in Malaysia (I used to work in Malaysia) means that Proton can get away with selling cars within Malaysia which are crap. Malaysia would be better off looking at the car industry in Thailand, which is far less regulated and exports a lot, lot more than Malaysia. |
