Jerky ride from stop position?
I own a 535i and have noticed that from 0-about 20mph the car jerks unnecessarily. meaning that the gear change from 1-2-3 isnt as smooth as id like it to be. is there any way to fix this?

I'm waiting for a sprintbooster to come out for the f10 that will hopefully get rid of the jerkiness. You can probably get rid of it with a tune.

I dont know if u have guys driven SMG cars, I driven almost every clutch driven automatic transmission (tho our 8 speed auto is NOT one of them),
they all have jerky tranny, I wonder if they made this tranny this way on purpose? i had sprint booster on my 997TT, prolly one of the best bang-for-the-buck mod, it doesnt add any hp, but it surely feels like you just added 100hp!!! (on RACE setting - RED). |

I find the same issue in my 550xi picked up last month. Especially when maneuvering in the underground parking it constantly jerks at those speeds. Very annoying

The adaptive transmission needs to get used to your driving. That was the case for me at least. Goodluck

I get the low rpm shudder also, i drive it on sport mode all the time now to bypass the shudder.
It didn't do it when i got the car, but seem to start after 5000km. have about 7000km now. Feel like the car was better before it adapted. anyway to reset the the transmission?

This issue is very well documented on several forums. With 528, there doesn't seem to be a fix yet, but with the 535, there is a software update that fixes (transforms) this drivability issue with the the car. Warning: some of us who have had this done also are now seeing a couple of irritating new issues not before present -- surging idle RPMs at start and steering wheel phone on/off hook button not working with first try. Knowledgeable SAs know about this and are told a software patch is being worked on.
