Dinan Exhaust
Hello everyone, I am interested in the Dinan Exhaust for my 2011 F10 550i M Sport. Does anyone have any info on it? Does it have a droaning irritating sound? I heard from some people that it has a subtle sound, but when you pound on it... it sounds really good. I'm really considering it, plus the black quad tip is always a bonus!!!

Apparently, Dinan has so many variation in their exhaust that its earlier ones have major drone issues. Recently, (after many complaints from the customers), Dinan had to replace them with newer re-designed one with minimal drone (much more bearable). Therefore, still not a lot of reviews from customers which have just be given the latest version of the exhaust.

Nice acs stuff you got Hyeoctane! I see you live in Wyckoff. I live in Edgewater. Could you share some information about your acs stuff? I would like to know where you purchase those great items. I really appreciate thanks.

I checked with my dealer on the Dinan exhaust and called Dinan. I'm getting miss information from someone I dont know who. Dinan said (dont know the sales assoc. name) that My dealer Prestige in Ramsey should have this exhaust as they have shipped several to them so I could hear it in person. He also told me there is a $200. download needed "to take full advantage of the reduction in back preasure" this was after I told him I have the stage 2 download already. I called my dealer. I spoke to Ryan my service rep. Very helpfull all the time. He said he has no exhaust systems they havent done one yet to his knowlege either on a 550 F10. He said the service Mgr has an X6 with a Dinan exhaust and will call me when the vehicle is there for me to see and listen to. He also said he never heard of any $200. additional download needed and was quit disturbed that I was told that as the website (Dinan) makes no mention of it. He also said even if there was he wouldnt charge me for it since the website doesnt say you need it. He als said the exhaust (in black) is also out of stock that one of the part suppliers is out of one of the componants and that not to expect it to be shipped till end of Jan or early Feb and that I would see it in mid Feb.
Dinan told me that it yields roughly 10 hp. |

From what I've heard the $200 is for their stage 3 tune which is what gives you the extra power. Apparently $3700 plus installation isn't enough.

Was there any recommendation from Dinan or from your dealer about when to put the exhaust on? My new 2012 550i arrives in a couple of weeks and I'm trying to gather as much intelligence as I can about when to install exhaust and Stage 2 ECM...

From what Ive heard the Dinan exhaust is not worth it, barely a difference in sound. And for $4,000 for a set of OEM quality (not great) mufflers I think its ridiculous. I really want to see some decent Eisenmann videos, at least their expensive mufflers look the part.

As for the performance, Dinan claims it delivers an extra 10hp along with Stage 3. But, as for the price, I DEFINTELY AGREE that $4000 is expensive for mufflers.

Would love to hear a sound clip from one of your guys. Eisenmann race exhaust sounds pretty good. Try and post some vids for sound.

I'll try to figure something out to get you some sound clips. I'm not trying to convince you to spend $4k on mufflers. Just want to make sure you're giving the Dinan option a fair shake in terms of the sound.
