Tires Size with 20's
About to order my tires, wanted to see what people were running.
I have a set of 20x9 front, 20x10 rear CF10's and was planning on running 245/35 on the front and 285/30 on rear. Is that the right set up? |

That's what I'm running as well. And Michelin PSS 245/35R20 just arrived in Hong Kong. I put on the first pair of those on my F10 front

I'm running Michelin Pilot SS's, 255 fronts and 285 rears on a M-tech 550 F10. And considering 295 rear and 275 fronts on my next set. 20x9 fronts and 20x10 rears.

245+285 is close in diameter than 255+285.

Perhaps I am wrong with my understanding of tire sizes, but the diameter depends on the hight of the tire, not the width alone. The figures 255/285 are the width, not the hight. Only with the additional figures of hight, you get the picture. Also the width of the rim is relevant, because the tire stretches on the rim. Sorry for stating the obvious, but I just want to make sure I am not wrong with my thinking. Please correct me if I am...
We have on the F11 the BBS CH-R 255/35 20x9-rim (front) and 285/30 20x10.5-rim (rear) which is ok with the M-suspension. Tires are PSS. No rubbing in any way... |

245/35/20 and 285/30/20 will be the closet match as they give a overall wheel diameter of 679.5mm and 679mm respectively. |

So it must be: "The height (of tire wall) is a function of the width of the rim, the width of the tire and also the hight of the tire." Correct? Sorry again, but I want to understand this. |

Wouldn't 255 front and 275 back also be a good combination for the F10?
the overall diameter is almost the same and closer than 255/285 combo. For me i rather have a meatier tire up front for potholes. Alan

I am running Michelin PSS 255 front and 285 in rear. On 20x9 and 20x10.5. I am considering going a little wider in rear on next set because I have a little stretch going??

Ok, thank you for clarification. I am not aware that the hight is a relative value...

35 means 35% of 245 = 85,75mm 30 means 30% of 285 = 85,50mm
