Just got a new 550i GT, now a programming question
Anyone have ideas/tips on where I can go, or who I can contact, to make some programming adjustments to the iDrive system.
For example, I'd like to turn off the feature of the doors needing a double pull to open when locked, the I Agree screen on iDrive, seatbelt warning screen, the need to click Continue on the screen that chastises you when you forget to press the unlock button on the side of the shifter, etc I was able to do this on my 2008 M3 (and other things too such as have the convertible top go down at up to 25MPH). Where Can I find a programmer who can do this for me? |

Can't help with that, but consider that if BMW came up with a firmware update, whatever changes you may have paid for, you might have to pay for them again...now, how often your car may need a firmware update is somewhat open. The whole thing is basically computer controlled and thus open for bugs and/or enhancements.
As to the double-pull, my guess is that that is mechanical, and not a software thing. |

No, even the mechanical door pulls can be changed in programming. I programmed away that setting in my 08 M3.
I'll just keep looking for a programmer who wants to make some money. |
