UK/Euro Oil Change Intervals
This may sound like a strange question but what is the BMW-specified oil change interval per the CBS computer in Europe and the UK? Two years or one year (and what is the max mileage)? I'm in the U.S. and here the oci is typically done at one year or 13 k mi which ever comes first (this is on a 335d).

U are in the F10 forums, may have more luck in the E90 forum. Either way not sure if European OCI's are relevant for you because their diesel fuel is different than ours. While we need urea injection in many of our diesels in the US, they do not.

I thought I might ask here since the UK diesel folks seem to be more responsive in this forum (the "need advice from UK BMW owners" thread below). I asked the question on the 335d forum and got no response. Just curious.
I asked because there's a lot of confusion on this topic on the 335d forum. The cars come through with a two year interval showing in the next service due in the instrument cluster. Some dealers do a one year oci without any questions. Others want to do a 2 year oci and only yield after much fussing from the owners.

This is the case with petrol versions as well. All of the dealers I have dealt with in my area have no issue with 1 year OCI, but you have to ask for it, they wont offer it.

i've only had my f10 diesel for getting on for 2 months now but have spoken to a technician about oil changes and he said that the oil will last 2 years. Its very expensive stuff.
I asked about changing it earlier than that and he said it wasn't necessary, some people do but asuming you have the 5 year free servicing deal, then you'll do it out of your own pocket. My belief is that BMW will only cover the servicing according to theonboard condition servicing. |

I have the 5 year pre-paid service plan for my 535d. The OBC was indicating my first oil change due at 19k miles, but as I was planning a long trip, they did it for me at 16.5k miles. |

In the US, the maintence is free for the warranty period, except for tires. Dealers will do a annual oil change at no cost. Essentially they will change the oil and not reset the oil service indicator light.
