My M550d Accelerating
Hi guys,
I got some videos for you about the new M550d, which I think is an incredible car, even BMW's claims are not true. I tried everything but can't accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 5.5 seconds (in any mode, and at any weight). Hope you guys like it. I'd appreciate the hit of the LIKE BUTTON or a comment. MORE VIDEOS WILL FOLLOW Thanks. |

Okay but what is the fastest time you got on low fuel?
Also it looks like you didn't get a good start there. Try raising the revs to 2k with your foot on the brake. Then release brake and floor the throttle.

I tried it also with 1/8th of Fuel left and also tried revving it more before I launch just no chance. The German car magazine "Auto, Motor und Sport" got it down to 5 seconds to 100 kmh. I don't know how they did it cause I'm not a noob in this business. Have been driving fast cars my whole life. I'll see if I can find out more.

Do you have a Launch Control option?
Or it's not available? To go under 5 sec you have to go perfect from the start, but for this car more impressive is the torque and the way you can overpass |

No launch control. It has the 8-speed sport auto which shifts incredible fast, but doesn't offer launch control.

does the M550d use a different 8spd trans from the regular F10's (535 and 550)?
The trans looks like it shifts super fast and crisp! Alan

I am not sure to be honest. I have a 535d with sport auto too, and I was very surprised when I picked up the M550d and did my first shifts. It shifts incredible fast and you even feel the shifts (even more than in the M3 DKG). It reminded me a LITTLE bit of the SMG . BMW has incredible sporty Auto Transmissions. It also holds the gears if you want it to.

are you shifting manually?
it looks like you could get a little more juice out of each gear - you're shifting too soon

No as you can see it is in S mode (which is Sport Auto). And I also have to say no to your second point. This is not a petrol high rev engine. The torque is the main power in this car and past 4500 rpm is almost none of it left. |

Well then you are wrong I believe. I mean the fastest and safest way to do it is with the S Auto mode and it shifts sooner then redline and also when I drive it manually I would learn to shift earlier cause you dramatically lose power in the top range.
Look it up my friend or go for a test drive. |
