F10 Offsets - Xi and RWD
Hi guys,
Are the offsets for the Xi and RWD F10's different? I am getting conflicting information on what kind of offsets the F10 can run. What is the ideal offset for the F10 for 20x9 and 20x10 setup? I was told by BBS that the F10 can NOT fit ET27 in the back but i jaekeem seems to be able to pull off even ET25 or 20 as slammed as he is. Alan

Alan,
I can only comment on offsets for a RWD car. In my opinion the perfect offset for 10.5 inch rear wheels is 42. I have seen a car with a 44 offset and it is not quite flush. I have also seen a 40 and it was perfectly flush to the fender which will cause rubbing if you're slammed with people in the back seat. So for me 42 is perfect. Very aggressive, but not rubbing. For a 10 inch rear wheel that would equate to a 36 offset. So you need to get something close to 36. 34 would be the absolute most aggressive you could run. 27 is an absolute no go. Please feel free to PM me if you have any more questions. Last edited by IE92; 03-20-2012 at 09:14 PM.. |

Ah thanks man.
Very helpful. I'm guessing jaekeem was running a 20x9.5 wheel (LM-R) which would explain maybe why he could run lower rear offsets. for the front...seems like we could get away with low 20-30 offset Alan

Alan,
Yes a 27 offset would work with 9.5 inch wide rear wheels. It would be equivalent to a 39 offset with 10.5 inch wide wheels. That offset is aggressive, but would work if the car was slammed (because the wheels will camber inward.) For example, luigimaster24 was running a 40 rear offset on his 10.5 inch wide Forged1 wheels and he believes that offset was perfect. For a 9 inch wide front wheel there are varying opinions on the perfect offset. I believe 25 is the most aggressive with no rubbing. I'm going to do a bit of research on this though and let you know. |

Hi...sorry for going OT but I am very new to this and this gives me an opportunity to learn from you guys.
1. Are offsets fixed for each rim/tyre set? 2. If I want to purchase after-market rims, I would need to know the exact offset that works on my vehicle or is it something that is flexible and changes with rim or tyre?

In Europe we have different dimensions front and rear for Xdrive with 18 "x8 et30 front / 18" x9 44 ET rear. .19 "X8.5 ET33 for front / 19" x9 for ET44 Rear. 20 "x8.5 ET33 for front / 20" x9 for ET44 Rear.

It's the distance from the wheel hub (contact point with the cars brake) to the middle of the wheel in millimeters (mm). 2. There more than one exact offset that will fit, but it's need to be within a range. That range will be smaller with wider wheels.

Does all this ET information also counts for the F11?
I'm driving a 535d Xdrive m-spec and want an aggressive look but still a kind of OEM style. Therefor I'm looking for the M style 303; front 8,5x20 ET25, rear 10x20 ET 41. I guess the right tires would be 245/35 front and 275/30 rear (maybe 285/30) I have found a second hand set of staggered M303 without tires in very good conditions and I need to react so any comments are welcome... |

Here's a F11 with the 303 and the larger tires from the F01. http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=453839&highlight=f11+303 Last edited by remmib; 04-03-2012 at 03:53 PM.. |

I have 10" wide wheels in back with a 35 offset and with my current tire Michelin Pilot A/S Sport Plus it will definitely rub with some weight in back or a big enough bump or suspension play..I do believe however that this is because of the brand of tire.. I have seen other members with 285 tires on 10" wide wheels and they dont look as beefy as mine..Mine look like they are swallowing my wheels. I either have to have my fenders rolled slightly or swap out the tires to Michelin PSS which wouldn't be so beefy.

The 20x10 et35 will fit. Im running 20x10.5 et35 and works great...some prefer the 10.5 in a offset of 40 which is fine..but me et35s are working great for me.
The 20x9 et20 may be on the aggressive, but I know that et24 is not a problem at all. I have a et29 and know for sure I can go out at least 5mm to match an et24, if not a little bit more. Keep in mind in tire brand/models vary in sidewall design, so aggressive setups are not guaranteed to not rub from set up to set up. Hope that helps...

Thanks Will. I know the rears will definitely fit but the front is what I am worried about. But the next size up for the front is a 20x9 et35 which is not aggressive enough and I would not want to run spacers. I have heard Sonic MS recommend 20x9 et20 for the front in the following thread.
http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=557224 I assume that they fit with the right drop and tires. By the way, how concave from your CH-Rs with that offset? Thanks. |

+20 doesn't seem outside of the realm of working since the +24 fits good from what I have seen, but as you mentioned it will be affected by type of drop and tires. If you don't want to run spacers, which I can understand, then you might just have to bite the bullet with the +20....if I end up doing 5mm spacers on my front, I might try a 8 or 10mm just to test the clearances, but I don't foresee getting around to doing that anytime soon. Good luck and let me know what happens on your end
