Make my OEM sport wheels sit like an aftermarket wheel - What size spacers??
First off, I am so impressed with the wealth of knowlege you F10 posters have. Respect.
It seems I will be rolling with my OEM staggered 19" Factory style 331 wheels for a while. I know many have put spacers on the rear to bring them flush with the fender. By knowing the ideal offset for after market wheels, I was thinking that we can calculate how much offset is needed for the OEM wheels. I love wheels/rims with an aggressive flush stance and offset. As my title says, my goal is for my OEM wheels to sit flush and aggressive like many of the aftermarket wheels. These are my wheels: Front Wheels are BMW Part # 36116790178 8.5" x 19" ET: 33. Front Tires: 245/40R19 Rear Wheels are BMW Part # 36116790179 9" x 19", ET: 44. Rear Tires: 275/35R19 http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-2011-201...4e0124&vxp=mtr http://f10.5post.com/forums/showpost...4&postcount=14 Thanks! |

Welcome to the Forums and thank you for your comments about the F10 posters, BigDeep1.
I have the same 2012 535i Sedan and wheels referenced in your picture. I went to ecstuning.com and purchased spacers to line up my wheels flush with the fenders. ECSTuning.com offers a great video on how to accurately measure the offset to choose the appropriate width spacers to acomplish a flush mount wheel with the fender. I used 15mm in the rear and and 5mm in the front. You will need to purchase longer, conical seat, wheel bolts for the front and rear spacers respectively. This is a must, as the original wheel bolts will be too short for a secure fit. Here are the part numbers and prices for each: Front: BMW Wheel Spacers Kit - 5mm ES#11296 Aluminum wheel spacers, made specifically for your BMW ECS#252KT 2 @ $44.95 each. Conical Seat 14x1.25x35mm Wheel Bolt - Priced Each ES#2550110 Black zinc conical seat bolts for your German automobile C17F35-ZNNITT 10 @ $2.00 each Rear: BMW Wheel Spacer Kit - 15mm ES#11299 Aluminum wheel spacers, made specifically for your BMW ECS#255KT 2 @ $84.95 each. Conical Seat 14x1.25x43mm Wheel Bolt - Priced Each ES#2550132 Black zinc conical seat bolts for your German automobile C17F43-ZNNITT 10 @ $2.89 each I'm very happy with the outcome. You do not need to have a new front end alignment. I've experienced no problems whatsoever with vibration at any given speed, highway/in town and am very pleased with the outcome and appearance. Hope this helps. Last edited by Andy H.; 11-05-2012 at 07:04 PM.. |

Bulldog, that is extremely helpful! Gorgeous F10! So, the dark lugs and dark spacer looks ok when looking at the wheel directly? I know many just put spacers on the rear; however, I think the front needs them as well.
The black and white wheel and body emblems are a nice clean touch. Where did you get those from? Great job! Thanks. |

You will not be able to readily see the spacers unless you are absolutely looking for them. You have to get up real close to the rim and peer inbetween the spokes to see the spacer. Even then, it's difficult. It's a non-issue. The black aspect of the emblems are from: http://www.bimmian.com/Colored-Round...W-F10-5-Series I wanted to see how the emblems looked with black on white. So, instead of buying new after market emblems outright I purchased some laser cut black high quality overlays that stick on over the blue part of the emblem. They are relatively inexpensive, are not permanent and offer a 1 year warranty. So far they have held up extremely well with no issues whatsoever. They tolerate the Texas heat/weather and my weekly car washing. I like the black on white color and will ultimately buy some after market black/white roundels. |
