Just installed JB stage 1...questions
I just installed the JB stage 1 tune on my n55.
Does it actually adapt over time? From a rolling stop, I find it slow before I feel any surge of power. I had the same tune on my n55 335 and it just felt very different. I and waiting for the stage 2 upgrade to arrive but was just curious.

I am running 91. Not a lot of places have 94 around here though I can get it.
As for boost, no idea. How do I check that? I do have the USB cable... can I go in and increase it? If so, what is the highest level that will not blow up my turbos or slowly kill them?

I got it from http://www.bavauto.com/
I've been on the fence to try Stage 2 so I'm still waiting to see what the other guys have to say about it. Alan thinks it's about the same performance between Stage 1 & 2. |

best to look at the thread on N55 stage 1 on the BMS website for guidance around boost settings/octane. |

I had a chance to give the car a good run today. The turbo lag is horrible. When I press the accelerator, not a lot happens then it surges. Stage one on my N55 335 E92 never did that.
I hope the stage 2 will make a big difference as it really sucks at the moment. Not happy !!!!

I for one never drive the car in comfort, the car just doesn't feel like a BMW in that setting. Try it in Sport or sport+ and if you still have lag try resetting your tranny adaptation. |

Push the ignition button without your foot on the brake to wake up the car. Then hold down the gas pedal all the way down for 30 seconds. Let go and then start the car like normal. This should reset the transimission adaptation that the car has learned from your previous driving style.

Usually drive in comfort sometimes sport. I'll try the tranny reset and wait patiently until my stage2 upgrade comes in.

should be 3-3.5 PSI if you havent touched it. As far as hurting the turbo, its maxed out from the factory at higher RPMs, cranking it up will only make the boost spike at low RPM hit harder, maxing the turbo out wont hurt, but exceeding the amount of boost for a given octane will cause detonation, or the vehicle pulling timing to try and save itself.
