Wow hats off to you man! I'd never attempt this man...would be scared to death probably. But its looking real good and at your current rate you'll definitely save about 45% of a brand new one. Nice job man...like others have said especially IF you plan to keep her for awhile.

it doesn't seem to be damaged enough originally to be totalled? Am I missing something?

Still looking for the answer to the above question.
The body shop got behind and will not be able to get my car in until Monday. They looked at my hood and said it could be straightened but will require some paint work. They said they would be doing a inter panel blend and the painted area would be very small. They will clear coat the entire hood this will not require any blending into the fenders. So far the problems I am encountering are: 1. The extra plug on the front pdc wire harness and I am getting warning not received from park distance control pdc on my idrive. So I was thinking it may be related to the xtra plug. 2. I have not figured out were the horns mount. |

Its at the body shop. I am getting a super deal from them on the agreement that they work on it when they have down time. They have straightened the hood and will do a inner panel blend on that so the paint will be restricted to two small areas of the hood and they will not have to blend into the fenders. Then they will clear coat the entire hood. They are waiting for a special clamp to pull out the tail piece of the car where the truck closes. I stopped by today and looked at it and they told me they will have it ready for me by next week. They are also painting the washer covers, toe hook covers, and parking sensors.

Everything is fine with the engine and electronics. Knock on wood. Someone didn't want their car repaired. I did not have to change any body panels. I should have some pics to post in the next couple of days. So far there has not been any surprises. We had a ice storm here about two weeks ago and they got busy at the shop. My car has just been sitting there. I go in every few days and start it to keep the battery charged.

Pardon my stupid question, is the warranty totally voided now? If there was nothing wrong with the motor after the accident, will the dealer cover warranty work on the motor?
Thanks! |
