Eastern USA BMW owners are a boring lot!
Prove me wrong!
Look at the number of members from the west coast and their level of knowledge and enthusiasm. They know so much about their cars and energetically discuss and exchange information. Now on the east coast however we just buy a BMW because is the right Badge? Most lawyers and accountant owners here do not know an E60 from an F10 or 6 NR upgrade from a kick in the pants??.. I do not believe it so come on guys let's share and enjoy the multi faceted experience of owning a BMW Well I Own a Jaguar XF ssupercharged now but My F10 550i, AW with 6WA and 6 NR as well as all other options except Rear entertainment and active cruise is in production as we speak. |

Great color on your f10 and good luck with it. If any coast is badge happy its the west and it has been since the 1920's. Maybe its the weather, trying to impress others, or just Hollywood. On the East cars deal with snow, salt, rain, potholes, dings, and tight parking. We work hard to just keep them clean and looking nice. We dont need another biggie and tupac!

Well I thought the semi Controversial opener will spark a discussion!
You are quite right about the east coast and the challenge to keep our cars looking nice. Having spent a fortune on Wheel and tire replacements in the past 12 years the pot holes and ridges are getting beyond a joke Specially after this winter... 245 /65/R 16s anyone? |

The technique was pretty good. I personally think 3 series (mostly 335 and M3 owners) are more into there cars and car meets etc. 5 and 7 series owners usually are older and busy with work and children. 550 is a great car though and its a shame you don't have more people to share your excitement with.

First post folks and I decided that this would be a relatively decent place to start.
I'm on the Upper West Side and have previously owned a 2004 E60 545i [6 speed], a 2001 E46 330i [5 speed] and a 1997 E36 328i [5 speed]. My father passed away 3 years ago resulting in two additional cars and thus, I retired the E60. The deciding factor at that time came down to the fact that we had a 1 year old baby and the Mrs only drives an automatic. So, have been in a Japanese SUV since then. However, the Mrs has been informed [and has approved] a F10 550i 6-speed in the near future. My dealer has been JMK in Sprindfield and I will probably go back to them again when the time comes. My wife LOVES to travel and I gently hinted at a European anniversary to which her eyes lit up. Of course I told her that the vacation would have to start in Munich and we would have to drive our own car through a few European countries. I was always happy and impressed when sitting behind the wheel of any of my previous BMW's [especially the 545i] and can only imagine what the 550i would be like. Once the car arrives here, I would be up for meetings if given a decent amount of notice [like bmw-nj said, work and children do get in the way] to meet others and learn more. Finally to ALL the people at 5post - thank you for all the knowledge that you have been sharing. Jay |

Hey there, I also just got into a 2011 535xi M-Sport in SGII (and also on the upper west side!).
I have to say that so far the coolest feature is the nav integration in the heads up display, really like it so far. The parking distance control (split screen with the rear view camera) is also pretty incredible. Im sure I can find it in another post, but where do other Manhattan F10 owners get their car washed? |
