Yes, JB4 is about the only one out here. You just have to check and see if your car has the CANBUS to hook up stage two, if not you have to run the N55 that is what I'm running. I would also get the USB cable so you can adjust the boost.

http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16620 go the the passenger side under the hood, in the back near the hood cylinder, lift up the plastic cover and see if you have that configuration in the picture, if you do then you can run stage two, if not you can only run stage one or N55 |

If you want a piggy back (similar to JB4) there's also the Hartge, I believe.
Regarding the JB4... if you have questions, you can just email Terry or go straight to Burger's site (www.burgertuning.com) which has most/all the info you need. Terry is pretty responsive over email. |

Strange. I've never heard of them in all the years i've been into modding. I'm assuming they need to remove the ecu and bench flash it.
L7AS - any before and after dynos? Alan

Also, we can adjust the boost in the ETG tune by using flathead screwdriver. Default is set at "6", but if you ever fill the car with race gas, try and set it to "7". It should increase the gain by 4%. Alan - the ECU was not removed. it was the same PnP tune. Some differences I notice between them: - ETG pushes the car harder on higher RPMs (around 4+), whereas the JB4 has more power on lower RPMs. - In terms of lag, the JB4 has lesser. I would try to get dynos on my brother's car (ETG) and mine (JB4 S2), and post them. Not anytime soon though. Quote:

When I hit the pedal all the way, JB's tune responds faster but not as powerful, whereas Jags' tune will respond a bit slower but more powerful. This is what I actually noticed. Haven't seen any dynos yet. but, as soon as I can dyno both cars, I will post them up. |

Yes Dynos will tell the full story here. Bmw's ecu's react very differently day to day and also based on how you were last driving it. Even with my old N54 car some days it would feel like a rocket and some days it just doesn't have the same kick to it. Could be due to various reasons.
If the ETG tune is just a piggyback its probably similar to the BMS stage1 or the AFE tunes. They are basically tricking the ECU to push out more boost by giving it false readings through the same/similar signals. Can comment about the AFE version because i don't know anyone who has it. AFE isn't known for ecu tuning so i would be skeptical honestly. Could be just a rebadged/package of a JB S 1 honestly or very similar.
