Just wondering as 535's are plenty on the lots....haven't heard about 550's yet.

550s are scarce on dealers lots because they aren't selling. Budds BMW says they only sell 3 to 4 a year. I was searching F10 inventory on dealers alternate websites and didn't see one. Of the 35 F10s in Calgary, none were 550s.

I usually don't put my soft rubber snows on until the snow flies and there is some coverage on the roads (Prairies). I'm waiting for a better price from my dealer, because $3,800.00 is a bit steep for a winter set.

If you lease, don't bother with factory oem set and save at least $2000. Just go replica wheels + winter tires. It should be around $1800 for the latter.

As for winter tires, I never buy OEM. I just picked up 18" 245/40 Michelin PA4s and a set of E60 M5 replica wheels for about 2k. The E60 M5 wheel is a great winter wheel -- looks good and has small spaces between spokes which helps prevent snow for getting on the inside of the wheel and throwing you off balance. I have the same wheels on my current 335, although in 17". Even the dealers will tell you it would be ludicrous to purchase OEM wheels for the winter! Not sure about the 535 or 528 -- you may be able to go smaller than 18 -- I would have gone smaller but the brake size on the 550 dictates nothing smaller than 18. |

Lee Andrews (salesman - and the nicest and most honest guy you'll meet) at Budds says they deliver 3 - 4 550s a year. He says the volume seller is the 528 followed of course by the 535. If Budds had a car that I wanted, I definitely would have purchased from Lee at Budds.
