Looking at a E60.
I'm only posting this here because there is no one in the E60 section, and many of you have owned E60. I'm trying to find the best model for me. Thanks.

2008 550i M Sport was the finest E60 ever produced. Great m-sport suspension. Carbon Black Metallic paint and black leather. Da Bomb.

I would get a 2008 535i. I owned one of those and it was great, especially with how well the car responds to a tune, you will be able to walk those e60 550s.. But that is only tuned. I had quite a bit of fun with the 550s in my e60 535i and all I had was catback exhaust and OE tuning ecu flash.

Correct me if im wrong.. but wasn't the LCI for the E60 in 2008?
I had an 05 E60 and loved it... it was my first BMW. OP I would try to get at least an 08 so you have the LED tails and the newer looking headlights. I think 08 might have the newer Nav as well. |

$15000 USD will get you 2005-04 545i, or 2005-06 528i. I'd go with 528i if I were you, less stuff to break on them. Got with manual, if you can too, automatics are shady on E60's.

I would go with the 530i. Pretty good naturally aspirated engine, maybe go for a 2006 model because that is when they introduced the 255 HP, 220 ft. lbs. of torque 330 / 530 engines

Previously drove 520i SE Manual (2004 Titanium Silver) and 525d M-Sport Auto (2008 Space Grey) E60s.
The 525d was from around the time BMW was introducing the efficient dynamics stuff - it was very frugal but performance excellent too for a 3.0 engine. Best looking and best to drive in M-Sport. The early SE was soft and comfortable but not that great for enthusiastic driving. The manual gearbox was not brilliant. The later models (LCI/Facelift) had some updated touches and would be my preference. Auto too. Brilliant car, you will be very pleased with all variants. |

08 or beyond (LCI) with m-sport. From there, it's budget-related. If you can afford it, the 550 is absolutely the way to go, but there's nothing wrong with the 535 if that's a better fit for you.

E60 is hideous car...looks somewhat decent in 550i Msport trim due to the nice rims.
Still cant get past those headlamps after all these years. E39 and F10 5series are both timeless designs. |
