Got it a few months back and we love it. We will be taking a long road trip soon so I plan on buying a thule cargo box. Any suggestions on which one? I want to lower it and add a fairing for the rack. Probably going to go with the thule 44 inch fairing. Any suggestions on a reliable hi-performance tune? I've tried to upload pics from my iPhone but it says they are too big. If anybody can tell how to downsize the pics id appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Welcome!
I see you're looking for a tune. I suggest BMS JB4 for the N55 (I6), it is well-known here on Bimmerpost and has gotten very high praise. Looking forward to seeing the pics! It's easier to just upload them from a computer I believe. does your ride have M-Sport? Just curious.

MSport for sure
Somehow I knew you were going to be the first to answer me. You seem to be the resident GT guru. Lol. Yes indeed MSport. To me this package makes this vehicle look so much better. Thanks for the tune suggestions and I'll go to my computer later to upload pics. Thanks again. Love tour GT btw.

Being chauffeured
Usually my wife sits next to our newborn in the back. We went to Marco Island last weekend and I sat in the rear. Wow. So much room! I work for Rolls-Royce and I have to say, there's more room back here than an swb Ghost! Crazy.

Beauty! The M-Sport really makes a difference, I wish I could just steal your front bumper right now!
Are you planning on doing anything to it? I would suggest definitely having your reflectors painted or blacked out whether you decide to mod or not. If you are a modder (somewhat like me), I have a few suggestions for you. If you wanna just lightly mod your car, I highly recommend getting Black Performance Kidney Grilles (around $80-100), or you could plastidip your chrome ones black (cans cost $2-4 each, you would probably need 1 or 2 only). You could also plastidip your rims (1 wheel per can) any color you want, I think gunmetal or black will look great. You can Google or YouTube tutorials on how to do it. It's quite simple. If you plan on spending a little more, I suggest H&R springs (apx. $250). I used to hate how tall the GT is, looks wise, it looked like a mini SUV. With lowering, it looks much sleeker, more coupe-like, it really changes the whole look of the car. I highly recommend this if you are willing to mod your car slightly. Plus, it improves steering feel and handling and reduces body roll. Also, if you're interested in rims, I can have my sponsors ( xowheels.com ) hook you up with some nice shoes. Also, if you want more noise, there are aftermarket exhausts for your 535 GT, or you could go custom like myself. Sorry for the outburst of info, I must do this with every GT owner maybe one day I'll find a modded GT like mine! P.S. I like that F07 badge on the back, where'd you get it from? However, please remove those little poser M-badges I know it has M-Sport, but its no ///M5.

Lmao! Thanks for the reply Dinan. However, If you look at the 2013 or 2014 EURO MSport GT visualizer, you will find those same exact "poser" badges on the fenders. I work at a highline dealership (including BMW) and while searching around I saw that the euro spec Msport F07 had them so I said "why not". I'm a firm believer of the OEMPlus look. Where can I get the H&R springs for 250? All I've seen is $300 and up let me know. Thanks. Plastidip is a good idea on the grilles. But I like the look of the oem 20" wheels.

Road trip
This car is so comfortable on long distance road trips! I got out after a few hours and felt ready for more. The Thule fairing is holding on like a champ on the oem roof rack.

Hope all is well, I saw pics of your 550i GT and a was wondering where you purchased the F07 badge on the back? I'm in Miami so if you had them made locally I would love to get them.
Thanks, Eloy |
