Seat belt buckle broke
When I tried putting on my seat belt, the seat belt couldn't be inserted into the buckle. The button on the seat belt buckle is stuck in the depressed position.
My dealer is having the parts shipped from Toronto as their local supplier doesn't have it in stock. This is mind boggling. I've never had a broken seat belt buckle in my previous Japanese cars. Has anyone with 2012 535xi had similar problem with their seat belt buckle? |

In my opinion BMW manage a new record low level in quality when down to the seat belts, from the positioning of the belts quality, I am for sure not surprise about yours breaking.

I could be the only one that had the seat belt buckle issue with 535xi. It took a few days waiting for the parts, but it's all good now.
My dealer also found that the front right tire had a bulge. Good thing I bought tire and wheel warranty! |

One broken seat belt bucket out of a millions of cars produced, I think we should all stop buying BMW from now on.

My kids in the back are no longer able to buckle up the seat belt, they used to do this with no problems in E60 and still fine with our X3 a 2011 just like the F10, and for me I have to break my hand in the process until I found a solution in this forum by having to buy 10euro belt extension, rather disturbing in a premium car! For 2011 car the belt developed few loose strings, I guess is from friction when I am pulling the belt without holding the belt clear of the plastic end, I never experienced with other cars. With the M seats, every time a passenger use the seat, I have to put the belt back on top of the side seat otherwise is constant rattle against the B pillar. All the above are recurring crap driving me nuts day in day out, not a one off, and now in this tread we hear of a broke belt buckle, it is simply a joke from BMW! Note never any issues with belts in all my past BMW’s, including my wife X3, so yes the F10 seat belt BMW guy should be fired for a crappy job |

Agree with the belt spacing, my kids struggle too. I am sure that I read that the spacing is an EU directive and not down to BMW in another post on this website

I believe this is an F10 design fault. |
