What colour alloys
I am re-powder coating my alloys as I'm replacing a buckled wheel and a couple of the wheels have minor scrapes on them. They are original BMW 312 alloys and are currently powder coated gloss black. I was going to go gloss black again as my car is AW with gloss black/carbon detailing.
Then I started to over think this and pondered whether I should change it up... I love the look of the car as it is but thought I would throw the question out there. What do you guys think?

Here's some pictures of the car as it is, they don't really do black wheels justice as I think black wheels always look better in person...

I think the gloss black works well cause it compliments your black roof, mirrors, grill, diffuser and spoiler? Unless you go with a bespoke type finish like metallic Gunmetal
Textured black black graphite You know bronze will go well with AW! Last edited by lsturbointeg; 06-20-2015 at 09:49 AM.. |

Yeah a matt black/gunmetal was what I was thinking of as an alternative. However with the amount of gloss black already on the car I'm unsure as to whether they will look as good...

I think if ur wheels had a different contrast it will probably make everything else pop! My car is jet black So I'm going with the blacked out look but with carbon fiber components but...it kinda hides that being the carbon is a darker color So it gets lost in with the jet black. Ur AW makes everything stand out not white So I would go for anything else other than the gloss black.

I think you should change it. I think what you have looks good don't get me wrong, but after looking at remmib's thread again, to me, chrome/alloy just looks better. Matter of personal taste. Of course you'll stick with what you like the most. |

I think I'll pop down the shop and put some colour samples up against the car, didn't bother originally as I was sure that I was going for black.
Interested to see how the matt black looks... |

Personal opinion ... black wheels got played out 5 years ago. I appreciate it's a matter of choice.. but something Bronze/Gold like Isturbointeg offered looks the business!

Based in Wolverhampton/Birmingham
I visited the wheel shop and tried putting various different coloured samples and finishes up against the car... I'm sticking with gloss black. I like the clean simple look, different from a standard F10 but not too in your face. More of an elegant look imo and probably more age appropriate! |

Personally I don't like the look of black wheels without some sort of contrasting lip. For those type of wheels, I would stick with factory silver, or a slightly darker shade in the silver family. Gunmetal can get tricky depending on the color of your car. Just my $0.02 though. Hard to screw up an F10 as they are so beautiful so you will be fine whatever you decide.
