I did get the check engine light. code P0171, Too Lean. Although it runs great, the racing chip is finally being utilized properly, amazing power... the engine studders a little when its cold, when i go for a long drive, the check engine light goes off, but soon as the engine is cooled off and started again cold, light comes back on pretty much right away. Any suggestions? Maybe need different MAF sensors? |

1st try swapping the sides of maf and see if the code jumps over to the other side, if it does try cleaning the maf, if cleaning don't work you might need a new one. Sorry i must have misplaced it, you should of messaged my number and i would of sent you URL for installation instructions. Check all the connections, make sure they are tight. Intake needs to be broken in by doing 4th and 5th gear pulls and then car has to sit stationary for a few hours while ECU is adopting. Need to repeat this processes a few times until the code stops popping up. Do you have a tool to clear codes ?

I noticed when I was working on Kyle's car that one of the code hes was throwing was also code P0171, Bank 1 system too lean to be specific, I cleared it but we couldn't get the car to go since it was having a misfire on cyl 8 and would go into limp mode automatically, that part we haven't figured out, Im sure its the injector but not sure.

Before i sent out any other unit i put it on my car tonight. My car currently has Stage 1 BMS, Stock Down Pipes and Stock exhaust. Car started with out any codes, after which i proceed to test. I have done multiple 0-155 pulls with out any codes and the car ran strong. I turned on my Bavarian tool to see if any codes are being stored with out triggering check engine and there was not a single code. Im assuming something was not done properly during install.

I cleared all the codes and Cyl 8 misfire stayed, Eric changed out all the spark plugs and 3 coils and it helped out alot, slight shaking, not sure if it cleared the code, I haven't seen the car.

I installed mine last night, and no issues what so ever, I let the car warm up all the way then took it out for a drive, did a couple higway pulls from 2 to 5k rpms and felt the difference, and a few revs here and there. Took it out this morning and running good, I can hear the blow off a bit over my exhaust. Cant wait to let it rip later this week. I want the ECU to adapt before it gives me any codes.

I am glad you got this to production brother. Anyone not wanting to buy this, BUY the air filters for OEM intake. He is the only person that makes them and the quality is top notch.

While i was testing CF version of the intake on my car that is stock now, i recorded a clip for people to hear how it sounds on a stock car.

Started installing my intake but just want to check something. The stock rubber couplers seem really large on the MAF housing. Like large enough that they wouldn't get a good seal even if I crank down on the clamp.
Is this normal? Or have mine stretched a bit from pulling the airbox so much? Thanks!

Mine took a turn for the worse. Now I get a "drivetrain malfunction" error when I start the car and the engine stalls. And, It only happens when the car sat in the sun for a while on a cold start. I took the racing chip out, but haven't had a warm day yet to see if it does it again, which makes no sense at all.

I'm about a week in, so far so happy. I had some rough running at idle on cold starts, and after reseating and tightening the clamps after the MAF housings it seems to have gone away mostly.
I still have a slight hanging idle and I'm pretty confident it is from a vacuum leak on the post-MAF intake tube on one side of the engine, I think I partially cracked it during install. But this isn't the fault of the intake at all so everything is good with me! No check engine codes, if you're seeing a lean code at all you probably have a vacuum leak after your MAF somewhere, make sure the rubber coupler is really clamped on there.

i have a feeling i will have to throw in code readers with each order to reduce the inconvenience if codes come up.
