First of all, I hope I am posting this question in the right place. If not, I apologize!
Here is my question: I have a 2011 528i that I purchased new. Currently, I have about 10k miles on it. I'm halfway through the warranty period and know that it's an expensive vehicle to repair. As such, can someone suggest an after market extended warranty? I know BMW's warranty is very pricey. I was hoping that perhaps there is a reputable aftermarket extended warranty that has a good reputation among fellow BMW owners. Any recommendations and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob- |

Geico actually offers an extended warranty for 100,000 mi. You need to be the original owner and you have to sign up by 15 months of owning the car or 15,000 miles. See this thread:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=658774 I am thinking of getting this as well; but I am waiting for 15 mo or 15,000 mi... |

Thanks so much for your info. I called, however, my car is more than 15 month sold with Geicho and does qualify.
I also tried USAA and you or a family member must be a veteran and have an existing account. |

i went to a dealership and asked how much would an extended warranty cost for my 2011 550i with 40k on the clock. They said that the best kind, that covers most, through 100k or 7 years is $4500. Little pricey, but without it, tat might be your first bill the day after warranty runs out

You can shop around various stealerships across the country to get the best price on the warranties and/or extended maintenance plans. Just email their finance dept with your car model, VIN, and current mileage, and request a price quote.

Definitely getting an extended warranty. Can you obtain one just before standard warranty expires or do you have to pick one up months before?

if I purchase an extended Warranty at a certain dealership, does that mean I can only take it to that dealership, or is it good at any dealership? |

I bought my 550i Xdrive at AutoNation Ford because it was the only one that had one when I was ready to buy. Due to the fact there were so many things that could go wrong I got an extended warranty through them but when my vehicle needs repairs they send it to the local BMW dealership.
