Nail in tyre...
After just 8000 miles and after wondering why my offside front had been loosing about 0.5 PSI a week, I found a nail in the tyre. Grrr
And none of the usual outfits stock the Bridgestone ER300. I will ask my dealer when I am there on Monday and see if they will do it for a sensible price!

You need to find a better tire shop. Ive had many runflats fixed like that. You have runflats right? Are you in the states?

A good independent will demount the tyre to check the inside of the sidewalls to see if they are damaged. If the nail is in the centre 3/4 of the tyre it's generally fixable as long as you haven't driven it with no pressure in it at all.

They just want to sell you a new tyre and not take in any risk. An independent will do it. I had mine done a few weeks back |

As long as its not in the sidewall it should be repairable.
Many companies will not repair run flats because they cannot tell if the tyre has been run deflated, this can cause sidewalls to be damaged, but not visible. As you know the history of the tyre and know it has not been run without air then a repair is safe and many small independent tye places will do the repair. Large franchised ones just wont because their policy state no repairs on run flats. |
