I am not sure hehe maybe i am not just used on seeing the rear on a quad exhaust set up. I think it is fine now also maybeit is good since it will not heat up the diffuser and create exhaust dust. I will leave it for now and if it continue to bothers me i will try to clamped the front hanger using a stainless steele clamp around the rubber bushing amd see if i can lift it a bit.

I just got back from a business trip this afternoon and i bought 4 stainless steel clamps from Home Depot and i put 2 clamps around the front Rubber hanger and tighten it up and made the clearance down to 1/2 from 1 inch.
Definitely looks better with more than enough clearance for the muffler to move up and down without hitting the diffuser. I will take some picture tomorrow for an update. |

How do you like those cyba tips? I just got my m5 rear diffuser and i'm going to drop it off at the body shop on friday to get it painted.
most probably going with gloss black similar to what the OEM msport diffuser is. |

The size are just right and looks good with M5 Diffuser, a little bigger than M5 OEM Tips and not too Big. The tips are being held by 3 screws with safety nuts to hold them well. Here is another picture from a different angle: Enjoy! |

First post and probably the last to do this mod since the 17's come out soon. Anyways, just got a 2016 550i glacier silver, blk nappa, driver assist, exec. pack, lux seating pack, m sport last weekend. I'm trying slow down my mod list (which is so difficult) and get the M5 diffuser done (thanks OP). I think I know the answer to this but does the trapezoid exhaust tips fit? Or which comes first, the quad exhaust tips or diffuser? I didn't want to go exhaust this early so if the OEM tips don't fit or look really weird, I'll probably move onto to front lip first.
Highpriest, beautiful work and quite the inspiration. |

M5 Diffuser Install with Comfort Access F10's
This has been the most helpful post throughout all of my research on getting an exhaust system on my BMW 550i without spending $3k plus.
This was the missing step....Thanks again for the post. Start up, Revs, Take Offs, Street and Freeway sounds with a M5 Comp muffler set up and exhaustmeister remote valve control. |

Sounds good I have pretty much the same setup and i love it.
the Exhaust meister is awesome, make sure you program it to you homelink. Button 1 - for garage controle Button 2 - for opening valves Button 3 - for closing valves I'm also going to at some point upgrade the exhaust tips. the CYBA Tips are seem to be reasonable, but for now i'm happy with it the way it is. I love the way the car starts at cold start, in my house with the car in the garage when i start the car up and open the exhaustvalves the upstairs lamp vibrates in by daughters room |

Finally got around to installing the M5 mufflers and stock M5 diffuser. Here is my take on the process.
YES, you only need to remove one side of the bumper to access everything. And NO, you do not need to remove ANY taillights to slide the bumper out (at least for LCI). Mine just came right out. I followed the instructions on this video and it's all I needed to do: The TPMS module slides nicely in the M5 adapter (plug side facing up). I drilled two holes in the adapter to secure the TPMS module with a zip tie. The comfort access will need to go on the back of the adapter. There is no chance of it going on the front (diffuser won't fit). I put it on the back of the adapter and again drilled two holes and secured it with 3M auto tape and a zip tie. I did all of this prior to taking my car to the muffler shop. The original diffuser fits perfectly back on the M5 comfort access adapter (makes you question why it's different in the first place). I then took of the diffuser before pulling into the muffler shop, had them cut off the original mufflers, I installed the M5 diffuser, and they had all they need then to install the M5 mufflers. Need help here. Convert my bro-in-law non sport rear bumper to Msport bumper and now his trunk CA stopped working. All the parts used to convert over are all OEM. The diffuser is an OEM 535i diffuser. We checked all the connections and everything is connected correctly. We even tried with the diffuser off and it still won't open.
Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks |
