408M (M5 originals) alloys for F11
Now posting in the correct subforum...
Found a slightly used set of studded winter tyres on M5 original 408M alloys that I want to use on newly bought M550d F11 (wonderful machine!) Original 20": Fronts: 245/35-20 8.5" ET 33 Rears: 275/30-20 9" ET 44 408M 19": Fronts: 255/40-19 9" ET 32 Rears: 255/40-19 9" ET 25 I've used http://www.willtheyfit.com/ and come to these conclusions. First of all they are slightly higher. But only by a few mm. Fronts: Poke 75mm 82.3mm Inset 141mm 146.3mm = 7.3 mm further out and 5.3 mm further in (wider alloy). Must be ok? Rears: Poke 70.3mm 89.3mm Inset 158.3mm 139.3mm = 19 mm further out and less inset. Anyone with some knowledge who can help me? |

This f11 has the 408m wheels with 255/40/19 tires. It's got ET32 all around, but the ET25 will fit just nice in the rear.

Thanks!
Yes it seems to be working just fine. I've bought the set for a bargain price. Can't wait for the winter now. I think it will look amazing. This guy has the ET 25 rears as you can tell from the pictures with the rears being "deeper" and more concave. The car is lowered and still works great IMO. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1473286 |

Yes, that's what I've read. Both rears and fronts are 9" and since the ET differs by 7 mm I guess the rears with smaller ET is 7 mm deeper.
I think it's noticable on the car I posted. Haven't got mine yet though. |
