F11 rear plastics creaks
Hi , I bought an used 2014 F11 with around 20k miles on it. Drives perfectly and loving every minute of it.
But...plastics in the rear seem to creak alot after parked in the sun for a few hours, creaking happens on body flex and bumps. Any F11 users that can tell me if this is normal? ive alreay lubed alot of plastics which lessen the problem but on hot temps plastics get creaky like an old floorboard in need of renovation. If i had to pinpoint the spot, i would say it comes from the bootlid. Anyhow, if anyone has some advice on this my OCD would be everlasting grateful Cheers and thanks. |

Plain and simple. Trim squeaks = two people in the car to correct.
Find a spot that exacerbates the noise issue, get the second person to sit in the backseat or fold the seats flat and get in the trunk and find the squeak. Buy some felt tape like this (electronic bay link warning: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/1719450...&ul_noapp=true ) and fix it. We used tons of this stuff (the Rolls-Royce version of the same stuff) at Bentley, I've fixed more plastic and leather squeaks with that stuff than I care to admit. Best of luck, from a fellow squeak and rattle crazy person.
