First BMW Intro! Upgrades decisions
Hey guys. So I just got my first BMW. It's an Alpine White 2016 528i with a tan interior. I was looking for some experience in the field of BMW and see if you guys would be able to guide me to some reasonable and tasteful mods. At the moment it's all cosmetic and possibly some minor performance in the future. It is a 528 after all.
I was looking at possibly some wheels, front lip, rear diffuser, spoiler, and Dual Slat Gloss Black grills. Also if you have any other suggestions and where to best look or if anyone is selling. I'm thinking of going for a black and white theme, so probably going to make the roof black as well as spoiler when done. I'm trying to stay low budget right now as I ended up going over just a little bit on the purchase of a car. Like 10K little. I'm looking forward to some great suggestions and thank you for any help or guidance. Looking forward to the future years with this car! Last edited by saad2605; 02-20-2017 at 11:07 PM.. |

Congratz and welcome.
Wheels: Totally up to you Front lip: I got mine off of ebay . Depends if you want real CF or Not. Spoiler: I got mine for JBSpeed. They have plenty of other styles as well. Edit: get painted side tirm (get rid of the ugly yellow/orange side markers on the front bumper). And also you can get color match fender and rear bumper trim. |

As far as color goes, I'm trying to decide if I want to color match things like the spoiler, lip, diffuser, etc or go with Black or Carbon Fiber. Ah decisions. And speaking of trim, probably going to replace the grill as well. I'm really torn between dual slats or single. |

i would suggest just browsing the forum here for ideas. you never know what you're going to like until you see it. we can suggest what we like but what we like maybe not what you like. i spent a good amount of time in the photos, video, media thread to see what people have done with their cars. also, you can check the Commerical Market forum to see what products look like on our car and the prices. doesn't matter your car is a 528 most exterior accessories will fit...even exterior mods from a M5 will work. you could even save a good amount of money if you just browse the Owner's MarketPlace... good luck!

1. A relative easy and inexpensive mod - a Pedal Set to replace the black rubber pedals; and
2. Cocomats - floor linings/mats - tasteful, different and plenty of options. https://www.cocomats.com/products/

Welcome and congrats on your first BMW. On alpine white I typically prefer the use of CF or black for contrast, so that would be my suggestion (CF spoilers, black wheels, white reflectors, etc). I bought most of my small cosmetic mods from these websites:
IND Distribution (side markers, color matched reflectors, etc) JB Speed (black emblems, front grill, etc) My CF front lip was purchased used from a forum member, because this one is fairly expensive new My CF trunk spoiler was purchased from/made by BMW, I found a dealership selling on ebay for a great price Wheels were purchased from a forum member (havent installed them yet). I'd highly recommend browsing the classified section and see what deals you can find. Wheels are typically discounted well in there. Anyways, good luck and definitely post some photos once you start making changes

Welcome to forum and congrats on New Ride
I like to point out one thing when you say stay on budget, you sure can do that and still get some tasteful mods but just be careful its BMW not a Honda Civic don't do nothing rational and cheep. I say save money and buy good quality parts Good Luck

Thank you for all the feedback and suggestions. I've been browsing the forums here and there and am building a list of possible upgrades and most of the ones you guys have suggested are definitely going to get done. Just going to keep it light and decent! I'm looking over the owners marketplace to see if I find some stuff I like.

Wow, has it been a while since I updated this. Sorry, it took so long but have been swamped with work and school. Plus I was finally able to get a good wash in and get some pics. Still, haven't had a chance to do anything on the car yet. Thread has been updated with pics!

Next Advice: Step at least 10 feet away from the car before taking any pictures.
