N63tu sputtering when coasting or under very light throttle
My N63tu engine has no codes but when coasting or under light throttle the engine feels like it dropped one cylinder and sputters. Full throttle is great as always.
Because there is no code I don't know which cylinder is the problem. My guess is that one coil pack might be bad and is missing just a little bit. Thank you. |

i had a similar issue, white smoke was also coming out from my passenger side exhaust, dealer replaced all 4 fuel injectors and plugs on the passenger side bank. i have a 2014 550i
i was getting gas at Safeway, and my SA recommended against it, as he said he's had a few issues with safeway gas on his own 535i. so he now sticks to chevron/76/shell not sure how much that makes a difference but lets see what happens after a few months of NO safeway gas... |

This cracks me up. Both sides of the exhaust are connected so exhaust can be from either bank. With a firing order of 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2 the 2 back to 1 and 8 to 6 are the only two cylinders that fire on the same side sequentially.

From my past experience on sputtering cars usually it's related to spark/ignition.

Bimmerlink shows me cylinder 6 goes into a misfiring frenzy when I reach cruise speed of around 105 kmph in comfort mode. Any faster or slower and it goes away. I also sometimes get misfires at low throttle after gear shifts from 2-3 and 3-4. All injectors, coils, spark plugs are brand new. What's even more weird, is the misfiring completely goes away if I disconnect the MAF sensors. The MAF sensors are also brand new.. |
