So I've tried flashing a few different OTS tunes. The AGG Stage tune does not work and gives me a ton of iDrive malfunctions. I can only get a burble under 3500 rpm, and Comfort and Eco modes are louder than Sport and Sport +.
I've tried the PTF OTS burble setting, and my own custom setting with the aggressiveness turned up to 7. Still nothing over 3500 rpm. Anyone have any suggestions/help?

I just installed BM3 Stage 1 93 octane on my N55 PWG. All I can say is wow! The car pulls so hard through all the gears, and really pushes you into the seat. Acceleration from 2k to 4k RPM at highway speeds is very quick. Also, the throttle response is very linear and there is no longer a rubber-bandy feel at a low-speed start in COMFORT/ECO. I've only spend a couple hours driving so far but drivability is the greatest benefit over a piggyback. Also, hearing the burbles put a smile on my face
I also want to thank mike@x-ph.com for hooking me up with BM3 at a great price. Excellent and quick customer service so I know who to go back to for future mods!

I went to reflash and found that PTF had put out an update since I last flashed. I updated software, flashed the OTS AGG tune and it's been great since. The gunshots are everything I hoped for and the power delivery seems even better. 3-5k rpm feels like a real sports car now. The gunshots are great but the "sport mode only" definitely doesn't seem accurate. I get extremely loud gunshots in M/S mode (Auto trans) in Comfort only. Sport mode makes them quieter...

Installed BM3 today using stage 1 93 octane tune and all I can say is WOW. Mid range pull is so smooth and strong. Best money spent so far modding my vehicle. Can't wait to save up a bit more for a catted race down pipe and hopefully a Pure Turbo soon.
Had time to bring it over to a friends shop and got some dyno time in. Results: STOCK 265whp - 291wtrq Tune 312whp - 426wtrq Last edited by jayster0966; 09-23-2018 at 03:54 PM.. |

I don't have a laptop as most people use their phone nowadays. Is the laptop the only way to do this? I'd hate to buy one for a one time use

I bought a $200 walmart laptop just for it. Cheaper than the adapter they sell, and hey, you get a brand new laptop for everything else. I'll admit is slow af and sucks for anything besides basic computing, but it works.

Anyone have this "delay" when at wot?
For example It feels like power is full on in 1st gear wot, and when it shifts to 2nd gear (still wot) there is a slight powerloss then it catches power again (kind a like a slingshot feel) and so on. In every gear. Doesnt seem to change weather the car is cold or hot. Doesnt feel like clutch slipping, it feels like im flooring it, then letting it go, and flooring it again but it feels like there is a slight throttle delay. Wasnt like thos before the tune, the car would shift clean and power would be co,tinuous delivery. I have the ots map with non burble. |

I felt like Sport and Sport+ mode shifting was improved after adding the tune.

I'm currently running a Stage two AGG (aggressive) OTS tune from PTF. I've had a tune not flash correctly in the past, I've changed between a normal tune and aggressive one, and each time it has been slightly different. Each time I've changed the tune, PTF had put out an update to their OTS tune since I last flash so I'm sure they're tweaking it. I have an older build PWG N55, my vehicle software wasn't even supported by PTF. I had to have a DME update done so they could support my car.

Had a day on the dyno at my friends shop and after playing around with S2 93 tune we had time to do some runs. Pretty happy with the outcome. Really need a FMIC yet as heat soak seems to be an issue after consecutive pulls. Need to let the car cool down a little between runs.
Running ER catted downpipe, ER Chargepipe, stock exhaust, K&N replacement filter, and approx E20 - E25 ethanol mix. Results: STOCK 265whp - 291wtrq Tune S1 312whp - 426wtrq Tune S2 342whp - 472wtq Last edited by jayster0966; 10-14-2018 at 09:42 PM.. |

You could check out the thread about the transmission reset procedure, this has helped others who had issues with the acceleration being smooth.

Here’s my review so far on my Bootmod3 experience. I have a 2011 PWG 535 with a stage 2 AGG tune. As all the reviews have mentioned already this totally transforms the car. Its insane how much better the car feels overall. It’s like the car shed 1000lbs.
It’s only been about 3 weeks but my observations so far: My car is a 6spd and the stock clutch was not very happy after the first week with the Stage 2 tune. My car is higher mileage, about 110k miles, so slipping may be due to it being tired but I had no slippage with the stock tune. It doesn’t slip in first or second (due to tire spin) but once it hooks in 3rd and 4th the clutch slips instantly at anything over 50% throttle. I’ve stopped using anything more than 50% throttle in the higher gears to save the clutch for the time being. The plan is to upgrade to a 550 clutch shortly. Im also going to try a stage 1 tune and see if the stock clutch can hold that. Second observation is the burbles sound like trash with the factory exhaust. The sound is muffled so much by the oem mufflers that the pops and burbles don’t sound nice at all. They sound like weird pops and puffs, almost like a baby spitting lol. I’ve turned off the burbles for the time being. Unrelated to the tune, I also added a VRSF downpipe. As all the reviews say, it does not fit well. It took a lot of messing around for my mechanic to get it to seal properly. To my surprise the exhaust sound almost didn’t change. I would say it’s maybe 5-10% louder which really surprised me. There is a noticeable increase in smell with the cat less downpipe. Windows up, it’s not noticeable but with the windows down you will smell it at a stoplight. What becomes very annoying and noticeable with a cat less downpipe is the wastegate rattle. On cold start it’s become very loud and obnoxious, it makes it sound like there’s a massive exhaust leak. Turning off the cold start feature significantly reduced the noise. It’s still noticeable at times but cold start was the absolute worst. I do have a little stumble at idle but I did also replace the oem spark plugs with the recommend NGK plugs. Im not sure if it’s the tune or perhaps the plugs are not gapped correctly. I plan to double check the gap and see if that solves the problem. Overall very satisfied and would highly recommend bootmod3 to all F10 owners. Last edited by MatthewLC; 10-16-2018 at 03:26 PM.. |

I have the MPE as well as a Catless DP and it sounds great, I would def look into replacing your mufflers with something else. But again as you said, I get a bad wastegate rattle. I've noticed it's much worse in Sport mode as the idle is a touch higher and seems to be at the perfect resonance for the rattle... oh well. Cold Start delete completely got rid of the rattle on startup which was the worst of it. PS2 will eventually fix it all

Also a stage 2 over the course of a year or so will kill your stock turbo. If you stick with stage 1 just get the 550 clutch and delete your CDV. If you go stage 2 upgrade you turbo, fmic, clutch and DMF
