Valve body/ Mechatronics replacement
I recently had the valvebody/mechatronics unit replaced with one from and identical model 2011 550i base sedan. I would like to know if there is a chance it would work on mine if programmed and how to go about programming it, i live in winnipeg and its been impossible finding anyone to do this for me. any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. I miss my car. Thanks

Not with any standard diagnostic equipment no. The Mechatronics is part of the vehicles EWS4 security system and is married to the vehicle it was removed from. The shop that performed the work should stop working on BMW's.
There are a few companies that can effectively virginize or align the used Mechatronics to the other components of the system but it requires them being physically removed from the vehicle and shipped off. The CAS, FEM, Key(s), and Mechatronics |
