Rear Tires 2011 550i
I really dislike the rubberband look of my current tires. Looking for a bit more cushion. Currently have 275/30/20 on my rear. Do you think I could jump to 275/40/20s? Asking for a friend...

A simple tire size calculator should give you the answer you need....they can easily be found by typing "tire size calculator" in a google search box.
You need to compare the rear and front axle overal rolling circumference and diameter...they should remain within 3% (+/-) of each other to prevent ABS/traction control/odometer/speedometer and AWD system (if so equipped) issues. You may also want to check if there will be any suspension rubbing or too much "poke" ( a higher wheel aspect ratio from 30 to 35 shouldn't cause this issue...but I'd definitely check going from 30 to 40, though). Here's a good site for checking the aforementioned: www.willtheyfit.com
