worth replacing with ACS springs on LCI F10 550 with sport suspension (704)
I have searched but, couldnt find anything on this topic, I found one line that says there was not much difference in handling going from LCI sport suspension (704) to ACS springs except lowered look... Is this true anyone with LCI sport suspension 9704) has replace springs and seen a noticeable difference in handling? mine is 2014 F10 550 and I have 704 sports suspension as per vin check

i have the same car with same suspension, and I installed the ACS springs about a year ago.
Here's my thoughts 1) 1" lower - which is just enough for me. 2) the ride is similar to stock, slightly stiffer. 3) HUGE IMPROVEMENT here, eliminated the brake drive and acceleration squat, and the general floatiness of the suspension. When i'd drive it on our crappy bay area roads with the stock suspension, at 65mph (you cuz i always go the speed limit) , i felt the car wasn't too planted at all. IMHO the look and performance after installing the ACS Springs was worth it for me, I don't do track time in this car, but for my spirited mountain runs, she handles fairly well for what i throw at her. At some point i may do Coilovers, but for 850 installed these springs were a good compromise, this is how a bmw should come FROM the factory. oh and NO bounciness that is often associated with lower cost springs, so the additional cost of the springs is also worth while. |

Thanks panipuri! good feedback here, I wanted to see if it made a difference in handling on twisties etc, I dont track either!!, I already have installed H&R sway bars kit, and that made a difference on the roll, but I am still missing something
like your ride height btw where did you get the springs from , thanks Last edited by gestut; 04-11-2017 at 01:54 PM.. Reason: add |

good performing, low profile rubber goes a long way with overall handling and performance.
if you already have m sport suspension, new springs will probably not make such a big difference, but it is most likely okay to do. |

I recommend either koni or bilstein sport struts with ACS springs. Eibach springs are also good. |

Eibach make ACS springs and are very popular here in Europe. I've always gone with Eibach as they come in cheaper than. ACS but with a similar performance and same quality.

ACS are manufactured by eibach, but they are manufactured to ACS' specs. I've never used eibach's so i can't speak to the quality of the ride on those. but i've been VERY impressed with the ACS Springs... |

Lowering 2013 550i
Hi xxpanipuri- I am also located in the bay area and agree, roads are terrible! do you still have the car and have you installed coilovers since this post? I have the same color car, exact model! What is the make of your wheels? What size tires?

bummer on the wheels, but it looks really good. Did the springs settle and lower a bit more or did it stay the same over the years? What shop did your work? I was thinking of having the KW adjustable coilovers installed as i want to get rid of the rake in the rear and level it. what do you think?
