iDrive Orange screen
So, yesterday after work I get in the car and start her up. Instead of the usual BMW start up screen I get a full orange screen, and then it goes black. Radio is working but no images on the screen, no camera image (but sensors are beeping). So I drive a minute and pull over. Shut down the car and lock the doors, wait 5 minutes. Start her up and everything is fine again.
Any reason to be concerned, or is this just a one-off? 2012 528i |

Yeah, hasn't happened again. Lets hope it stays that way.

when orange screen did happen on my 2012 535xi, my radio/navigation screen was blank after that. I was advised to press and hold volume on/off button on the radio for 30 sec and that has reset the head unit and resolved the problem for me. This doesn't seem to be working on NBT units

I had a 2012 535i from about 37,000 miles to 107,000 miles. My screen went wacko 3 times in that long period, and all it took was shutdown, wait, and restart. For me, it was just a software/hardware hiccup. I would only be concerned if a restart does not fix it, or if it happens regularly/often over the course of a week or two.
