BMW 2015 528i first oil change
I just had my oil changed not at the dealer for the first time. They used Mobil 1 5w-20 and a Mobil 1 filter. Are these okay for my vehicle? Thanks!

It shouldn't hurt, I use Castrol edge 5w30 full synthetic in my n55 535i no single issue. Some people use 0w40/5w40 in the n55 engine. I only use MANN filter though ever since I owned my e90 328i purchased at advanced Auto. I don't see an issue with mobile 1.

I haven't used any LL01 oil since I've owned my 535 got car at 84k miles, now at 95k 3 oil changes, done 1 done early due to maintenance on oil filter housing gasking, but I normally do 5k intervals.

5W20 is a bit on the thin side for the N20 motor. With a turbo, you'll want to be using a 5W40 synthetic oil. As far as the filters go, Mobil 1 is a fine filter but is pricey compared to the Manns which work just as well.
