Guess you never owned an E82? BMW excels at making strong buffets. You could always just buy the Z4.
Never owned an E82 sadly, didn't know that they have buffeting issues. Point being still that, while the Supra is a great car (the fact of it being a Z4 doesn't bother me as much as it does others), the buffeting makes it a deal-breaker as someone who likes to drive with the windows down.

I wonder what if you just tilt the sunroof, usually it's pretty good (don't know about Supra specifically, but at least with my 540, tilting sunroof is pretty good, open sunroof will get loud pretty quickly though).

I never really roll the window down, so can't comment much, wonder if open both passenger and driver side would be better or worse than just open driver side

I don't think the Supra has a sunroof, but not sure. If you don't put the windows down, it won't be a problem, but if you're like me, putting the windows down for close to half a year, its a dealbreaker

Do you currently have a coupe without rear windows that open? I've had a number of them and they all have pretty serious buffeting. Even convertibles tend to be bad with the windows down and roof up. One reason some have a back window that also opens.

Currently have an M2, don't have any buffeting issues with the windows down, pretty much normal amount.

Sunroof vented or no difference? Possibly related, are you tall? I tend to be right next to the b-pillar which I think accentuates the issue. I'm 6'2" and like my arms pretty extended.

No sunroof on the M2, 5'11, sit pretty far back, haven't had any significant buffeting issues.

I think the Toyota just suffers worse because of the window design and its more angled, maybe something to do with aerodynamics. All i know is that when I drove the Supra recently, I had heard of the buffeting issue, and tested it out myself and found that it has greater than average buffeting at lower speeds from 40mph+.

Also I've seen a couple of vid where they drag race the Supra vs. a Mustang GT and they are basically neck and neck, and I know for a fact that the Mustang is no where near 12.0 1/4.
18+ PP1 a10 GT has done 11.8 - 12 for several reviewers.

Not sure. It'll be interesting to see when they get the mechanicals done and the car is actually moving on the trans. At the end of the video, he states they're going to draw up the parts needed for the conversion in CAD so they can get proper parts made up. I assume they'll be selling the parts and any necessary tuning as a total kit.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing to commence sales of GR Supra GT4 in March 2020

https://global.toyota/en/newsroom/toyota/30434801.html

Quote:
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing to commence sales of GR Supra GT4 in March 2020 to Europe, and expand sales to North America in August, and to Japan/Asia in October

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing confirmed today that it will start the sales of GR Supra GT4*1, a race car for customer teams, starting from March 2020 to Europe. The sales area will expand to North America in August, and to Japan/Asia in October. TOYOTA GAZOO Racing intends to strengthen its focus on customer motorsport*2 in order to enable motorsport-lovers around the world to participate in races.

The GR Supra GT4 is based on the GR Supra―TOYOTA GAZOO Racing's first-ever global model released earlier this year―and is developed and produced by TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH ("TMG").

A three-litre in-line six cylinder engine with single twin-scroll turbocharger has been tuned to 320 kW*3 (430 hp) with a 7-speed sports automatic transmission with paddle shift and the mechanical limited slip differential driving the rear wheels. An Akrapovič exhaust system will be fitted and Ravenol will provide first-fill lubricants.

The front splitter and rear wing are made of natural fiber composite, contributing to an overall weight of 1,350 kg*3. Following the specification of the GR Supra road car, the front suspension will be MacPherson strut, and rear suspension will be multilink with KW dampers at the front and rear.

The braking system is enhanced through the use of a dedicated brake calliper for racing, six-piston front and four-piston rear, while running on Pirelli tires.

Safety will be a priority and the GR Supra GT4 will be installed with a high-strength roll cage on the lightweight steel body, and an FIA-standard racing seat with six-point harness. The interior will feature a carbon fiber instrumental panel with a display and steering wheel specifically designed for GT4 competition.

The contact company for each region of the GT4 vehicle sales and customer support (including sales for spare parts and engineer support) will be the following; TMG for Europe, TRD U.S.A., INC. for North America, and TOYOTA CUSTOMIZING & DEVELOPMENT Co., Ltd. for Japan/Asia. Please contact the listed company for how to apply for purchase. The planned car price is 175,000€ (excluding tax, custom fee, logistic fee, etc.).

*1 GT4 vehicles are sold to race participants and cannot be driven on public roads.
*2 Private customer teams purchase race cars from manufacturers that are modified versions of production vehicles and enter them into races.
*3 Subject to change depending on the SRO BOP (Balance of Performance).
