the problem is not the the size of the wheels, it's the offset of the caliper. you need a distance plate for the caliper, because the F10 caliper is deeper inside than the G30 caliper.

Adding some clarity here for the folks who are looking to upgrade to 750i or Alpina brakes in the front:
If you have a 550i(USA) AND If you want to upgrade for cosmetics, you can purchase the 750i/760i/ALPINA B7/B6 Caliper Carrier part number: 34216786829 and use your existing caliper housing. You will need to purchase the Brake Rotors for a 750i: 34 11 6 785 675/34 11 6 785 676 If you have a 528i/535i/550i(USA) AND If you want to upgrade for better braking, you will need to purchase 750i/760i/ALPINA B7/B6 Caliper Carrier part number: 34216786829 AND 760i/Alpina B7/B6 Rotors: 34 11 6 789 543/34 11 6 789 544 and pads kit: 34 11 6 794 464 Both of the above mentioned setups use rotors that are 374x36. The difference is that the 760/Alpina rotors have larger surface area since the hat is smaller and the pads are bigger Lastly, for even better performance with BMW parts, you can upgrade to e70 X5m Calipers/Carriers/Rotors/Pads.. they are bolt on. All of the above mods have already been done by users on this forum so feel free for further inquiries |

You know what would be dope? If the person who created this thread updated the first post with all the confirmed brake kits that fit the f10 instead of everyone having to scroll through the entire thread trying to figure it out. Just sayin.
I heard the f80 m3 brake kit is a direct replacement for the f10. Didnt feel like scrolling through the entire post to see if anyone has confirmed this. |

Not sure if this has been discussed in the thread, but I emailed FCP Euro asking if their warranty applies still when you buy 760li brake parts and the such for this upgrade. They said that as long as the parts aren't modified heavily, they'll honor it. Figured this info might help some others.

Just for confirmation from those who have done this mod.
The F01 stock 750i front rotors and calipers transfer over to any F10 with no modifications? No carrier from another model? This thread is kinda all over the place. Thanks.

Any fixed caliper options for "19 wheels?
Edit: Took another read through the thread and apparently E60 M5 may work with F01 37x (374/376?) rotors. Which F01 and does this require the EU spec carrier for the 550? Last edited by windowmaker; 10-21-2019 at 02:28 AM.. |

You will need to buy a new caliper carrier for this mod. You need p/n 34116786829. The carrier you have on your 535i will not work with 550i/750i rotors and calipers. From BMW, the carrier is stupid money, and no one makes it aftermarket to my knowledge. Your best best is to look on ebay for a used one, or check with local salvage yards.

This thread hasn't really discussed that mod at length, but I don't believe you need a caliper carrier with those E60 M5 front calipers. Either way, I'm not sure you'd get any real improved braking power from that mod, so probably not worth the trouble. |

I'm slowly acquiring all the parts needed to do the X5M/550i mod. I now have all the calipers and they've been rebuilt and powdercoated. I'm currently pulling my hair out over brake pads and noticed a strange anomaly that I don't think has been discussed on this thread.
Regarding the rear 550i upgrade to 345x24mm rotors and larger calipers, it appears that the brake pads have different part numbers on RealOEM between the US and Europe specs of the cars. The US is 34216857805, while EU is 34216775346. However, the part numbers for the calipers, carriers and rotors are exactly the same between the US and EU spec cars, so I have to imagine the pads are identical as well, and different p/n for the pads has something to do with the pad compound only. Can anyone confirm this? The issue I have is that the aftermarket pads I want are only sold in the US (and I live in the UK), so if the US pads are in fact fundamentally different and won't fit in an EU spec caliper, then that obviously will create a problem for me. |

All the following parts need to be replaced, though: Front rotors/discs: 34116785675, 34116785676 Front caliper carrier: 34116786829 If you wanted to upgrade to the 760i front brakes, these take different pads (and also have a different caliper p/n as well). |

This was originally in Excel, but I've had to convert it to Word to attach it, so it has lost some functionality. You can PM me and I'll send you the original Excel file over email if anyone wants it. I'm anticipating that I'll have my X5M/550i conversion installed onto my car by the end of the year, so I'll post some updates on how it goes. |

But I have one question, the F01 750i has bigger rotors but the same brakes pads. So that means there is a surface of the brake disc that does not come into contact with the brake pad |

I have some cleaned up 760i calipers with the taller carriers and bigger pads listed for sale in the classified... just need to add the 374x36mm rotors. (And I would suggest rebuilding them for long term reliability.)

I completely understand where you're going with that logic. However, check out post #19 on the first page. I can't really say if there is any truth to this or not, though.
