I'm wanting to do a NBT EVO retrofit on my F10 CIC pre-LCI I currently have the HU (with GPS,ID6),G30 screen
CID cable for monitor,Microphone cable,Aux cable,USB cable, BT antenna and Emulator/Adapter that I'm getting real soon I know I need to find someone who can flash and code my unit but is there anything else that I'm missing ? I'm sure I know how to plug everything in I just want to ask someone who has expertise in this retrofit and who has done this before I'm willing to pay just need the help. |

I'm curious on this retrofit as well. Keep us informed. The big issue I see is the fact that the F10 screen is inset into the dash, while the G30 sits up outside like my old F30. Is that an issue with fit using the G30 screen?
I have an LCI with USB/aux and also the touch idrive wheel, I'm assuming I'd just need a screen, an EVO head unit, whatever connectors, and coding. But if I have to custom fit the new screen, I'd lean towards just going with bimmertech's carplay/AA upgrade.

I have been looking for a F10 for a while now and will probably pick one up real soon. I have done five NBT Evo retrofits with ATM in E series cars before and I just did one for a F30. You want to make sure you pickup a US spec headunit and a ATM module so you can keep telematics, HD Radio, Sat radio, BMW Assist, etc. On the F30 I even got the remote lock and unlock working with the phone app. I have no idea how it will work on the F10. My car systems dealer put a G30 touch screen in his dash and it looks real cool. I want one in my F10. I put a touch screen with a NBT Evo in a E89 Z4 and it is worth it over a non touch screen. I will do a write up once I find a car.

Im planning on this retrofit soon, just need to decide if its worth the extra expense of getting a NBT Evo head unit thats pre-coded to my VIN, since its got afew extras that may need to work. Im being quoted £1090 for the a unit that will also have Carplay screen Mirroring activated and also have the voltage converter wire to conneect to the existing screen (F10 LCI with ID4).
Do you think used NBT Evo head units work with out coding? seen them go for under £400 in UK Will be great to see some knowledge shared, Im just wondering how much coding there is and if it can all be done using eSYS and ENET cable?? And what is involved when they say coding to VIN, FSC codes?? Last edited by Gangsta; 05-25-2020 at 04:47 PM.. |
