Steering Wheel Retrofit

So for those planning on doing a steering wheel retrofit, you can save yourself $50 for the harness. You don't need it. All it provides is a connector to the LIN bus for the electronic module which is already in your steering wheel harness for the steering wheel buttons.

Bought the heated steering wheel brand new and it is s great refresh item for my 6 year old F10.....

If you don't want the tri-colored stitching, a vendor has the heated steering wheel new for $549....

Will change out the center trim with the M leather once I receive it.....from Europe in January....

Good pricing. A shop on this side of the pond would be nice though to save a few bucks for shipping and possible fees.

I was thinking of picking up one that has already been recovered. I can't go weeks without my car while waiting for it to get back to me. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Steering-Wh...53.m1438.l2649

If I have an M-sport steering wheel with paddles and blind spot alert vibration this could work if I swapped everything over from my steering wheel, right?

Love your honey walnut wood trim... any chance you can share where you go it?

Also, how come you haven't swapped your 6WA cluster for 6WB yet? Based on all the rest of the updates, that one looks easy

The individual trim came from somewhere overseas and I paid way too much for it, but I could not find the more rarer San Hellbraun....

I've thought about the instrument cluster, but will have to wait, as my next task is to remove the dashboard and re-dye the lower dashboard's Merino leather, including the Merino Leather Glovebox, to Silverstone.

Haven't decided if I will re-dye the door card lower section to Silverstone...I may just re-dye the interior merino leather lined door card pockets Silverstone....hope to post pictures right after Christmas.

If it's getting redone, why not just buy a cheap/beat up steering wheel off of ebay, send that to them to get it redone, and just swap everything over once it's back? You can then always sell the original wheel after the swap. That way, you can choose how the wheel is redone to your heart's content.

Edit: Royal Steering Wheels also does an exchange
