[solved] Nut size for rear exhaust hanger? 2016 528i
I was having a bad rattle at idle coming from the rear of the car. I jacked it up and found that the rear exhaust hanger had come off of the bolt on the rear differential (or subframe?).
As you can see in the picture, I placed the mount back onto the bolt but I am having trouble finding a nut that fits. A m12 started to thread maybe 1 turn but stopped. Can someone tell me exactly which type of nut I need? It appears the bolt is part of the differential (part 7573819) but it could be the rear subframe (part 6775896) Picture is sideways Thanks in advance. Edit: Solved.. it's a hex nut size m12, 1.5 thread pitch that fit Last edited by MegaGoo; 09-06-2021 at 05:02 PM.. |

Before you posted this I realized there were different thread standards so I went and picked up a m12 1.5 (fine) and a 1.25 (extra fine). The 1.5 did the trick. I just looked it up via realoem and it confirmed.
07129904866 Hex nut M12X1,5ZNNIV SI Thank you |
