Thanks so much for all the elbow grease involved in tidying up my ride!!!

Meanwhile, I got about installing Dinan Intercoolers and the M5 1000W fan on xxpanipuri's car and the amount of wiring on the TU engines is a major PITA!

The turbos looked spotless! the engine bay was in tip top shape. This basically completes the needed goodies to move to the Stage 3 tune which is also about to happen soon

Plugs & Coils Day. (2015 535i @ 60k mi)

I went with Eldor Ignition Coils & Bosch Spark Plugs (w/ the 'S" designation)
Probably didn't "need" to change the coils, but wth, I'm there.

I was all happy and smitten with myself after removing the crankcase vent hose without breaking it (after reading many stories @ how brittle it is). Little did I know that the 3 bolts underneath the wiring harness were laughing at me. I thought those were the biggest PITA of the project. That #6 Plug is not in the friendliest location, but workable.

Switched up the look. Just refinished my wheels and repainted my front bumper. Wheels are Matte Bronze & Hyper Silver.

Got the 5er back from the shop with a new valve cover, eccentric sensor, and DISA valves. Yeah, that cost a bit. Still cheaper than a new car... barely.

I ordered some blacked out side markers, which were waiting for me when I got the car home and made me quite happy:

I fixed the headlight washer cap that somehow came unclipped when I was reinstalling the bumper.

Love your wheels BTW!

OK - I'm going to cheat here. I acquired a more scuba-diving friendly vehicle earlier this year, and just yesterday, gave it the full paint treatment I have successfully performed on our BMWs. I guess the point I'm making here is that what we learn for detailing our F10s can also work on more mundane vehicles. I was pleasantly surprised how well this 13 year old truck turned out.

Cheers!

I ordered some blacked out side markers, which were waiting for me when I got the car home and made me quite happy:

Pulled the wheel well liners and installed the blacked out reflector inserts. Good fitment. First side I forgot to pull off the old adhesive, so will see how it holds up over time :-/

Also finally accumulated all the pieces for some roof racks. The footpack fits a little wonky and I'm not 100% happy about, but like the look and utility of it for sure. I have footpack for my 328i as well, so can swap out between the two pretty easily.

Mind the gap.

I have the BMW roof racks which see to function similarly to Thule racks. The only place the racks touch the roof is on the mounting points that are underneath the little plastic flaps. The foot pads don't touch at all. I get that the gap might be aesthetically less than ideal, but I'm sure your racks will work quite well. Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback! Guy I bought them from said pretty much the same thing... it's unanimous! On my Mazda the pads are actually solid and resting on the roof, so was expecting that. I haven't swapped out to the 3 yet, so will see if that floats similar to the 5. I'd rather have it sealed better than it is, but guess it is what it is!
Thanks again (great photo!)!

Thanks! I've had my F10 since it was new, and even had it for three years while I was living in Europe. Yes, it's seen the Autobahn but no, not the Nurburgring. I have used it for all our recreational activities, and it is really quite amazing how much you can stuff into it with the rear seats folded down. Camping, diving, skiing, biking, and the list goes on. Only now, since I've acquired my wee little red truck, will I give my F10 a break on the more extreme activities. Yet, it is still better on fuel than the truck, so will still be used for longer trips.

Dinan Stage 3 Tune installed.

thanks to my buddy Addy27 for his infinite wisdom (and patience)

In the last year I've done the following.

Larger Front Brake Rotors/Calipers/Pads from an Alpina b6
m343 Wheels (from m5)
Dinan Cold Air Intake
Dinan Intercoolers
Dinan Stage 3 tune
6wb Cluster
Meisterschaft Mufflers (already had Comp Package Exhaust from OEM Resonators back)

Next up is the NBT Evo Retrofit (which Addy27 will also be assisting me with)

We don't have folding seats, but the trunk his cavernous compared to our other vehicles! That's literally what we bought it for as my wife is an itinerant nurse that needs to carry a lot of equipment. Trunk is larger than a 3 series cargo area for sure. Great camping pics... I can use this to justify getting rid of our GL!!!

Changed drivers door speaker. Old one was crackling. It's not a long I had to change the passenger side (it was already crackling when I bought the car).

After 8 months of ownership and my own personal commitment to ensure that I address all the fundamentals first (fluid dumps, filter changes, new plugs & coils, new tires, spare tire kit, CA fix, rubber mats, battery charger, "cheat sheet for how to get my car into neutral w/ no power", etc.) before I start with any of the "fun" stuff I am happy to say that:

Today was a glorious day for my F10 as it is..........

The Day the front orange deflectors died!

When you mention "battery charger", what exactly are you referring to?
