Best interior LED retrofit
I'm in the process of a little bit of "freshening" of my 2011 since it's 11 years old and counting and I have no intentions of parting with it anytime soon. Something I'm thinking about is interior light retrofit to LED.
I want quality light of a pleasing colour - no weird glitchy flickering during the fade, not blue, no //M logos projected anywhere, just not depressing yellow incandescent bulbs. Based on my criteria, I'm thinking there's an original BMW kit out there but I thought I'd ask what people have done and how pleased they are. I was looking around RealOEM and found a part# for what looked like a complete 10 bulb retrofit kit (63122212788), but sites like ECS who sell it say it doesn't fit the F10, so that's kind of puzzling. If you've also sourced something from somewhere else that was just as good, I'm interested in hearing about it. I know a lot of the time these "BMW" parts are available directly from whoever actually made them. I'd also like to know if anyone has done a genuine BMW kit and been disappointed despite the premium price. Last edited by Surly73; 09-17-2022 at 06:41 AM.. |

Not for my F10, but for my E90 I got a kit from HighPerformanceBulbs. Coming up to almost six years and they work flawlessly. No flickering and they fade out just like OEM bulbs. They appear to carry a kit for the F10 as well at this link. As a side note, I have their LED side markers for my E90 and those have been going strong for well over two years now also.
If you do decide to go with the OEM kit, do share pictures as I'm curious to see how it looks. |
