Replacement?
Hi all,
I finally but the bullet and sold my F10 550i. Even though it was plagued with issues, I miss it terribly. Everything I drive is just boring in comparison (Audi, Lexus, Acura, etc) I had originally planned to replace it with an F80 M3, but have decided I just don't want a car payment as I haven't had one for over a decade. I'm hoping someone can suggest a BMW that is somewhat reliable in the under 15-20k range. I don't want something where rod bearings are considered general maintenance. Or something where rim cracking is normal behavior. Just a vehicle I can drive and enjoy without electrical problems or burning a quart of oil every 2500 miles. Am I reaching? I hope not as BMW has been the most fun car I've ever owned (as well as the most frustrating). Thanks ahead of time. |

The F10 535 is a great balance between reliability, gas mileage, and power. But that doesn't mean it isn't without its issues. Do your research, a clean carfax with good maintenance records is absolutely vital.

Also consider 640i/d, in 3 different body styles.
