Show of ur after market 19 ‘s for f10
Yo ,
Am planning to do a change from 464m 20 inch wheels with dunlop tyres to aftermarket 19 wheels to reduce the unsprung weights from my f10 so the steering could be light , as well as improve handling . But as per my research you will feel very little difference from OEM to after market Wheels .not much , but let me know what u feel practical. |

I found a used set of 408m wheels, which are the winter wheels specific to the M5. They are very light for a non-forged OEM wheel, about 25 lbs each. They’re 19x9 with ET32 front and ET25 rear, and I’m using 245 Michelin winter tires.

Am thinking to go for apex ec7 rotary forged is 408 lighter than apex?, 19*9.5 ET33. & 19* 10 ET 44 or 45, 255/45 front & 285/40 rear for better side wall . Will this work or will rub the fender ? I need a little wider in front instead of 245.

9.5 wide on the front is a tight fit. I use 20x9.5 ET30 on the front and it’s very close to touching the suspension upright. 19x9.5 ET33 might actually rub on the inside especially if your tire has a thick rim protection bead that protrudes, you’d want to do a test fit to be sure. The suspension upright is also curved in a way that might make it an even tighter fit on the smaller 19” wheel.
My 19x9 ET32 with a 245 fits no problem, and the recommended 255/40 tire is fine as well. If you can’t test fit before I’d stick to a 9” wheel. The 10” ET44 wheel should be fine in the rear. |

I use the 408M for winter wheels which are 19x9 ET32 and I use 10mm spacers on them (ET22 then). They fit well but I’m lowered with -.5 degree camber arms.
Do you have stock F10 calipers? I seem to remember something about the 550 calipers not clearing some wheels, and they changed at some point… LCI maybe? I don’t remember for sure, but if you do some searching you might find it. |

Do the calipers touch the spokes on the wheel, then you could try on a 5mm spacer.

1st pic is 15mm wheel spacers. 2nd pic is 12mm spacers. But the gap between caliper and wheel is very little will this be fine or always need more space ? |

Looks like you’re fine with 12mm spacers, I’d say that’s more than enough space.

My vote is for the 10mm spacers. Looks like lots of space to the calliper. The 15mm spacer has a lot of poke.
Are you planning to lower it? If so the top of the tire will camber in slightly and you may need to change your spacers to get the look right or keep from hitting the fender. |

It’s definitely a trade off. Lower profile run flat tires will have more immediate turn-in compared to taller profile non-run flat tires, but as you’ve seen the compromise is a very stiff ride. The more compliant a tire is the better it rides but will usually have less sharp turn-in.
Turn-in varies greatly with different tires too, even within the same size. Perhaps your new 19” tires are just not a responsive design? |
