Aftermarket Wheels / Hub Centric rings
Hey everyone, I am new to BMW (about a year now) and I am looking at a set of staggered Drag DR-80 wheels for my 528i Xdrive. I was wondering if those of you who have put aftermarket wheels on have used hub centric rings? The tire shop is recommending them. Any suggestions will help. Thanks

No, I am not talking about spacers. BMW wheels are hub centric. Aftermarket wheels usually are lug centric. The ring centers the aftermarket wheel to the hub. I am just trying to find out if anyone else has done this and if it’s necessary.

I'd recommend them. You run the risk of vibration without hub rings just using the bolts to center the wheel. Besides, they're cheap. Might as well.
Caution on those wheels as well. I've had Drag and Rotas in the past, and one has always cracked. There's a reason they're some of the cheapest on the market. Last edited by Jo3f1sh; 07-03-2023 at 10:23 AM.. |
