So I recently noticed a weird noise, sounded almost like an exhaust leak. Decided to have it looked at and on the way to the shop the engine experienced catastrophic failure (blown motor had to tow to the shop.) The car only had around 50k miles and is in very good condition, interior as well as exterior. The shop quoted me $15k to replace the engine. Really not sure what to do here and was wondering what my options might be, or if anyone has any advice at this point.

Unfortunate not apparently it’s very comin on the n63 engine. Going to have my Indy shop replace it with the n62tu which is the same engine with the known problems addressed.

Be careful. My understanding is the TU uses different sensors and may not play well with the DME. I'd make sure POSITIVE that the TU will work before plopping down the cash.
