New wheels on at last !
Thought I would put this on so people thinking of changing their wheels can have a look.
Taken off 18" 350m staggered alloys and replaced with 19" 345m M5 wheels. The rears are 295/35/19, fronts are 265/40/19, with all round Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. They fit straight onto my 520d with no rubbing issues or full steering lock problems. They feel brilliant after taking off the runflat tyres. I did take it straight in to BMW for 4 wheel tracking, and it drives beautiful now. Could have gone wider wheel on the rear with the correct offset but the fronts are pretty much at the maximum width they can be without problems. |

Very nice... however looking at the rears I can't help thinking that you will get some wheel rub when you bottom out or hit a bump, it's right in line ?

I have just come back from a holiday in the Lakes, had the wife and baby in back seat, front seat was loaded up to roof and boot was absolutely full to the brim. I looked at the rear wheels before we set off and the tyre was right up in the rear arch but there was no rubbing at all, even when bouncing over motorway ridges at 70mph !
I must admit, I thought it was going to scrape, but it didn't at all. The Michelin tyres curve round at the edges which is probably the only reason it didn't scrape. |

Best tip is clean them once a week to stop dirt bedding in.
I use Autosmart G101 on the wheels, spray it on and leave for 5 minutes, then bucket and sponge them down. I use Autosmart tyre dandy on the tyres. The spokes are hard work but the G101 does all the hard work. Hope this helps ! |

Looks good but there is no way that there is no rubbing on the rear. Add about 200kg of weight on teh rear and drive up with one wheel on the wedge: you will then see how much rubbing there is... This basically reflects what the car is like when taking a turn with 3 people sitting at the back..
Looks yes, but safetey goes ahead looks... ps. with these tire specs, your speedo is off by about 2,5%...

Hello mates. I know this post is more than a decade old one. But I need some info on the paint code of this.
I have had the 345M M5 alloy wheels in black for quite sometime now and thinking of reverting back to it's original factory silver color or ferric grey. Black color doesn't highlight the detail of the alloys. Can somebody help me with the paint codes please? Cheers |
