Bluetooth issues help
Whenever I sit in the car I play music first, if I start playing a song from my playlist and then switch to a song that I search (Apple music) it looks like iDrive can't figure out what song is playing and just mutes it. I tried forgetting and adding again, deleting bmw connected app? But no luck... the song still says it's playing on my phone but no audio. When I plug aux it works fine so it's just the Bluetooth connection. I'm on iOS 14.
Also my USB cable when I plug it into my phone it always flashes on and off, I tried different cables but it keeps happening so I can't even plug my phone in with USB |

Download it from BMW site. You’ll have to search for it.
Put it on flash drive and insert in center armrest USB port Navigate via idrive to the menu to update software and apply update. At least you’ll eliminate that specific variable. Also there is an update to iOS 14. 14.0.1 |

As far as your cable issue. You could have lint or junk inside your charging port. Take a flashlight and a plastic dental pick and clean it out.
Your contact slot could also be worn out |

My BT is staticky on calls since the new iPhone wonder if mine is just an update issue too. Searching for BT update...

I have a 2013 550i when I play audio I can’t hear it from the car for example I have a video from my photos I can’t hear and Instagram reels I unpaired it and repaired it same issue you think it’s the car or the phone?
