2013 530i F10 OEM battery
Hello everyone.
Super noob here so I apologize for potentially posting this in the wrong section. What are the specs for the OEM 2013 BMW 530i (F10) battery? I've changed it twice at the dealer but the 3rd time it was through a friend while I was traveling and that's the reason I think checking the type now won't do me good: I'm pretty certain he cheated me there and installed some garbage battery – it only lasted less than 2 years. I just want want the specs for the stock battery for my car so I can take it to a proper place for a change. AMG 105Ah? |

FYI BMW branded batteries are amazing... if they aren't too much more expensive, they are a good investment! |

I would have gone with the OEM but the local dealer here in Saudi sells the OEM AGM 150 Ah battery for $1,100 (part only) which is insane. Installation + Registration is another $500. The Bosch equivalent cost $350 all inclusive! |

If you are installing the same size battery...all you'll need to do is REGISTER it. If you are changing the type/size of the battery...then you'll need to CODE it first, then register the new battery.
If you are using Bimmercode/Bimmerlink...you may need BOTH apps depending on if you need to code or register. BimmerCode can CODE for a different type/size of battery. But you need BimmeLink to REGISTER the new battery.

Also, it can be tough to track down the Ah rating for many batteries sold in the U.S. from auto parts stores. Many of those H9 Class Batteries are rated at 100 Ah or 95 Ah, so a guy needs to do his homework or at least know what he's getting himself into. My original battery is nearly 9 years old. That's good enough for me to stick with a BMW branded one when I replace it (very soon, btw, lol) |

Bigger is definitely better, however, if you don’t live in an area that gets extremely cold the smaller size batteries are probably enough.
I have the 3L diesel in Canada. My car is 2016 and as far as I can tell still has the original 105Ah AGM battery. It fires the glow plugs and cranks the engine no problem at -30C. |

I was just about to follow-up on this.. I'm changing from a 90Ah AGM to 105Ah AGM, so I from what I understand I'll need to code and then register? BimmerLink for Registration and BimmerCode for coding..but is there an App that does both? Carly? |

Ok so I finally did the coding and registration myself using BimmerCode+BimmerLink.
But the charge shows 69%. Is this normal for a new battery?! The scenario that I faced was that the battery was changed last week (Bosch 90 Ah AGM to Bosch 105 Ah AGM). The guy had told me that he knew how to code/register it but turned out to be a clueless sob and failed using Autel as he didn't know how to change 90 Ah to 105 Ah - He registered it at the old 90 Ah values. I ended up looking for another person to do the job but couldn't find anyone so I did it myself a few days and ~200 Kms later. |

I'd put your battery on a charger until full and then monitor the SOC for a bit. |
