Valve cover gasket pinched slightly need help
Hey guys so I did the valve cover gasket job a little while ago and the install went smooth but I’ve been dealing with a slight idle vibration and slight jerking while idle, rpm’s don’t jump and car still pulls hard while tuned but I smoke tested the car and turns out I pinched the gasket very slightly on the right side. It’s not leaking oil but it does have a vacuum leak that is sooooo small it makes me not want to redo the job.
Do you guys think I should use permatex or some type of sealent ? The leak is so small that smoke barely came out at all it was such a small amount. Any advise would be appreciated. |

I would suggest to redo the gasket, I would do more research as well as wait for a reply for those who have used Permatex before.

As you said, a slight vibration and jerking, so that's a re-do. :-(
But hey, should go a lot faster the second time!!! |

But I do like having a luxary first car too so I’ll just redo it if I don’t find a solution. Sucks Becuase it’s not even an oil leak, I was off by just a smidge. |

Yeah, for now, its fine however, that is a compromised area, the sooner the better, I definitely wouldn't want to neglect that any longer than needed my friend.

Very true, hopefully sometime over the next few weeks I’ll pay my friend who’s a bmw tech to do it.
