f10 528i N20 mods?
Hello guys, I am new to this.
So I have a 2014 528i with the n20 engine. i have read that cold air intakes have no performance gain whatsoever? only a cosmetic/sound upgrade. is this true? should i order one? I currently have a Dinan preset Chip tune in my car already and I have a K&N air filter that I ordered on its way. What do you guys think I should do next? not looking for anything too expensive and something easy such as a cold air intake. |

Hi,
To get the most for your money get a flash tune + Wagner intercooler. An intake will add some power but it will not be noticeable

[QUOTE=StradaRedlands;30871178]CAI shouldn't be the problem... it's just replacing a big box with a pipe. But the MAF sensor might not be plugged in properly so it's registering weird air flow. That's my 100% guess via the internet!
Could it be the maf is upside down or that something kinda came loose from the increase in air flow forgot to mention it goes in limp mode and looses all its power |

That would be my first guess. Something not plugged in fully or wrong direction or something. Or maybe damaged when switching it over. Again, just guessing here...

So I cleared the codes and checked everything it wasn’t loose or the mass air flow sensor wasn’t backwards it seems to be running fine now made a small adjustment to the system it’s self. Next is to check the turbo inlet and outlet to look for any cracks since they are plastic any other recommendations?

So I’ve taken off the cold air intake and the cars running perfectly. Thinking about putting the cold air intake back on but taking off the battery terminals for an 10-15 minutes to see if that helps the car realize it’s a cold air intake. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated it’s a 2016 bmw 528i 2.0 turbo
