520D AC replacement - how to pick one?
Hello,
Spoiler: Probably a noob question so please bear with me. Car: BMW 5 Sedan 520 d, 190 hp, [F10], 2014/07 - 2016/10, engine code: B47 D20 A As it turns out my AC compressor is leaky and a local authorized BMW service where I usually service my car priced the replacement at around $2000 (or 23,000 Swedish kronor). I really don't think it's worth it as the entire car is priced at about $9-10k so I decided to try and find something cheaper. How do I actually pick one? Is my best bet to search by the OEM number - 6452681143601 - from my leaky compressor? Searching by the number I get a few compressor where it says "Comparable to the original number". If it means anything these are the brands I'm getting for the OEM: Airstal, Rotovis, Ridex, LUCAS and ELSTOCK. I have read a few threads here and everyone suggests going for Denso, and some local shops do list it as compatible with the car but the OEM is not listed as comparable. What to do here? |
