Headlight always on with DRL
Hello, just bought a F10 couple of days ago. My headlight are on auto even if is sunny outside I can’t figure out how the headlight are on. I wish to have only the angel eyes on so I have tried to untick from the system DRL light and both gone off. Any help with that or can I code them with Carly to have only angel eyes when is sunny and obviously the headlight to turn on automatically when is dark? Thanks.
PS I don’t have any tint on my windshield/Front windows. |

Need more information on what you have. Just saying you have a F10 tells us very little. Over the years there are many variants of headlights. Go to a place like mdecoder.com, enter your VIN, and see what headlight set you have. Then either google information on it, or come back here with that info.

Ditto the reply above…you don’t mention WHICH type of headlights you have…nor did you post a pic that would show what you have even if you didn’t know what type they are.
For example, the illustration below shows the 3 types of headlights used on the f15 X5..the Halogen headlights uses the low beams as DRL…if this is what you have, it may be the reason why you can’t get the AE/Corona Rings to illuminate as DRLs as they do on the bi-Xenon’s or LED headlights.

I don’t know what coding parameters the Carly app has…but as you can see in the screen capture below from the Bimmercode app’s website…the coding parameters for DRLs for the f10/f11 5 series with halogen headlights is to use the high beam or the low beam. There’s a parameter for NORTHERN COUNTRY COMFORT which I confess I have no clue what that is or looks like.
The AE rings for the Xenon & LED headlamps can be coded but the halogen headlamps don’t appear to have that option. Again the high beam or low beam is used (at a reduced rate) for DRLs. That is why it appeared to you that your headlight was on during the day when you had DRLs selected in AUTO mode. When dusk arrives, then your (reduced) DRLs become your regular headlights.

*Solved* , as our colleague said I have Norther country comfort headlights, the only way to have only angel eyes as DRL is to do it with a tester. I did it with Carly and it works.
